Just want to let you know that I've purchased an Etrex Legend CX, previous comments regarding GPS users therefore no longer apply .

The stock front end is marginal, but I guess it keeps me from becoming too brave. Any holes, and it's slow in and slow out for me.

In a moment of weakness I decided to sell my Airhead (Preparing for Canada/Alaska trip). I pulled the front end off & sold it to Vege. I have since come to my senses and couldnt bare to part with the bike so it now has a rebuilt stock front end. They're a very rigid set of forks as they have a 25mm dia axle and a fork brace. Damping needs altering. You can get a big bucks cartrigde fork kit for them. Also need a bigger brake !!

I spotted that one, it looks mint.

Says he's moving to a Dakar, dunno If I'd consider that an upgrade.

Thought that might get a bite. It's about more than just weight though, and R80G/S exact weight depends on whose figures you are readng but generally all agree they are around 190kg.

I was thinking just coolness factor. It's in Nelson & I'm tempted to go & just kick tyres

We should start up a wall of coolnes ike Top Gear. This bike would have to be in the subzero. Hang on I'll start a thread...

Weight = momentum , and that can be an interesting advantage sometimes
