I used to go for the g-strings too but after riding the Daytona a bit you feel like you're getting cut in half and the guys behind me would get a bit frisky seeing the pink sticking out the top of my pants...I just don't swing like that

On a serious note (seriously I don't wear, thongs, no honest), interesting topic. Was pointed here after a few of us (boys and girls) were having a knatter about this very topic.

Totally agree with the bamboo. I was a sceptic and now I'm converted. This is what I mostly ride with (and wear everyday) and it's scary stuff (almost as scary as merino) how fresh it makes you feel. The wife is thinking about trying it too

Totally agree with this too. When I'm riding how I use shorts that come to my knees. Perfect of track days and I don't get as sore if I don't wear them. In saying that, they are pricey and you can get cheaper types. If you're not working as hard then bike shorts are good (and extra padding is always a bonus).

Very interesting thread! I hadn't really thought about it before!
I tend to wear normal knickers on the bike, I find if I wear a g and my jacket rides up/pants ride down, the people behind me end up following a whale tail!
I haven't even thought about what they are made of, generally buy them if they look nice
I'm gonna make it so PC

I used to worry about that too, hence why I started wearing bike shorts. I eventually solved the problem by getting a zip added to my pants so I could zip the jacket to them. Safer that way too

Had always been wearing a thong, but it definitely wasn't optimum in comfort...especially the lacy ones

Anyway, on long rides I swear by my cotton bike pants with a panty liner for all day freshness.
The lack of seams around the groin area also helps with the "no more numbness" from cutting the blood circulation, which can be compounded from the fact I normally ride my Vtwin Orgasmatron

I found the same was applicable to me during a GoAsHardAsICan track day...

Maybe try a couple of the solutions sited on here, and see for yourself.

A most enlightening thread, I must say.
I wonder how many people will stumble upon this thread by searching for the tag "sticky yuk yuk"?

But on a serious, and semi-related note, I'm gutted that I have a biker leather jacket and biker armoured pants, both with zips in the back to zip them together, but because they're different brands they won't zip up. Very annoyed about that. They look like the same type of chunky plastic zips, but just won't do up.

Oh, and I wear boxers. But that's no help to the ladies. Just wanted to be included.

Go into Motomail on College Hill as they have zip adapters. I had the same issue but went in there and they found one for me.....viola!!! All fixed

...and also, just a few more posts and I'll be able to see who's blinged me.
Not that this fact is making me do unnecessary posts or anything.

Oh mint. Thanks for that. I think I broke one of the zips trying to force them together, but I'll give it a go. I work out that way, and start work soon, so I might pop in there.
