As the saying goes "If you think safety's expensive, try having an accident" fit's right in to this one eh.

I will ask BR, from all accounts they are good and it'll be interesting to get a first hand opinion.

Pity they don't make them in blue anymore.

Pardon me to ask, if the impact damage was that great, uhhh at what speed did it all happen?
I'm just curious because I don't remember breaking anything when my accident happened at 30kph (Not that I'm trying to proove that you were speeding! lol )
Lol, no worries EJK. I can't say for sure but I can confirm it was greater than 30 k's. Just one of those things really, the front loses grip for just an instant and the rest of the bike needed somewhere to go Unfortunately it wasn't going where I thought best. Something to do with V2 I'd surmise. And a few of Newtons Laws thrown in for good measure. And I certainly couldn't break them any more than they were already.

Thanks for the thoughts The Tiger isn't too happy, now that I can confirm

Drink more milk, get stronger bones... isn't that what the ads used to say on TV?

The whisper kit definitely helps quieten things up but I still wear plugs. Some people complain that it make the helmet warmer but I'm undecided - when it's hot it's hot. Others say you can't get ya camel bak tubes past them - still haven't tried mine out (should have had it on our wee loop). Incidently when I left Waiouru with the helmet undone (twat!) it didn't even lift at pace and I only discovered my dumarse mistake when the strap started beating on me. Small investment for a bit more comfort...

With luck you won't have the same claim's handler I had at AMI.

"Large hole"? I can show you what they look like when they heal. I could fit my thumb in mine, though having my heel sitting next to my toes was a tad freaky!

I'm not an expert of crashes here but the Tiger doesn't look that banged up at all, obviously you took most of the beating.

My thoughts too. Photos dont look anywhere near as bad as I was expecting. Then again, Yods RF didnt look that banged up either but it was fooked.

Picked up my whisper kit today and the patriot is quiet as a mouse now. Pretty warm day and I was pootling in town as well as a blatt home to scrub in the new front tyre and the wind noise was minimal. Didn't make the helmet hot as it has those nice vents top and bottom. Why I waited 2 years I have no idea
So light too, almost forget I have it on

Can you tell I am really stoked with the new lid

Well, in a few weeks I'll be able to road test mine and make a decision then. I must admit I do like a quiet helmet so I'll probably go for the kit either way. I've had a good look at them and they do look the biz.

General advice here. If your strap is not secure, STOP, and make sure it is. Not preaching, just want to emphasise how important it is after seeing the state of my old one.

Bones, harrumph. Nights are the worst for me at the moment, trying to get comfortable is not easy. I've come up with a good solution now though and had my first decent sleep in ages last night

So far, they've been good, may they continue to be! I'm dropping in the invoice for the new Shoei today which will make the deal even better.

    Yeah, let's compare injuries

I have your indicator sitting here btw

    Onya Bonez and Cowboyz

Yes guys, the Tiger doesn't LOOK too beat up I agree. It's got way more damage than the Toolman's though and his was written off. I haven't heard the decision on mine yet so I can't say if they'll replace or repair. I'm not really worried either way and my policy is for full replacement if it's written off within the first year. I'll just have to wait and see. ANZA did indicate they could get me a black one if it goes that way.

I'm glad that all these new lids are causing some pleasure All part of the Twilight Zone situation which exists at the moment which will hopefully be resolved amicably soon. That's all I want. Hope the other one sells quickly, it should I'd say

Glad to hear it honey Nothing worse than not being able to be comfortable, especially when you are in pain
If you can't be good, be good at it
