Hmmm I did't know that but then I was at the back.
RULES ARE SIMPLE! YOU STAY BEHIND DESIGNATED LEADER.
Phoenix tells me that this maybe because there were some newer riders who doesnt know this and others might have followed. Lets not have this happen again.![]()

LMFAO... thats a stupid "rule" is it cos of the accos in the past? if so I understand but fark me theres no way id stay behind a pretensious wana be control freak LOL... come on, maybe you should change the title to 'WN larners ride ONLY. It can be safe to ride ahead of the pack you know... if not safer for some, give the senior riders some respect.
cheers DD
(Definately Dodgy)
Yes Dangerous it is because of the accidents.
Those senior riders of the group held a get together and discussed what we could do to make the ride safe and enjoyable. Making the duvouchelle riders seperate & having a leader and TEC were two of the things to come out of it. As you were not included in this group decision I guess you may not have known.
I dont care what you think this ride should be called, but at least its a step to making it safer for all. Also there are other ride options out there so if someone doesnt like it then don't come. Simple enough

im more than happy to stay behind the leader.its the same formula on the ATNR.
if the leader chooses to do significantly less than the speed limit at any given stretch, unless theres a hazard or whatever, that is the only time any one should have a problem IMHO
if ya wanna speed, theres a few options.
Go to duvauchelle with the "fast crew"or whatever they call themselves
go to a trackday
go ride alone
its a group ride after all,and riding on one means abiding with the group rules.
after the first two rides in went on,a couple of mates who came with me vowed never to come back, after those "back to back"incidents.
personally i prefer the alternative, even if it is less exciting.that kind of drama i can do without.![]()

Renegade Riders hehehe I love it!
And no disrespect to how the ride is run etc. I'll choose not to come if I dont like the way it is run, as will others im sure. I just think the way a particular incident was handled was particularly petty.
Good work making it safer and more of a 'group ride' than I remember it being though![]()
Making???!!!
I think you will find that the ones that go to Duvoucelles do so from their own choice, do they really pick you as being ones to follow orders?
I don't care how safe you guys think it makes it, follow the leader is GAY! If people wanna boogie and can pass safely I don't see the problem. It's a ride not a funeral procession. If new riders are led to believe that this is normal they will be bored off riding pretty fast.
Food for thought: if the leader doesn't like getting passed then get a faster leader. It's hardly rocket science...
It really eats me how some self appointed 'heros' wanna play the big man and feel they can be in charge of other people, but not as much as the lemmings that let themselves be bossed around. You shouldn't need rules only a little common sense and a little consideration. Whats next? Reg and WOF checks before each ride to make sure the bikes are safe? - Give people some credit.
If being passed offends any of you - FFS get over it! It's gonna happen from time to time be it on bikes or in cars, it's not done to deliberatly insult you and if you think that way you should see a shrink!
That's my 2 cents worth, like it or not!
Steve, people weren't passing the leader like you're making out. We stopped outside the Wheatsheaf and were there for all of 5 minutes when part of the group decided they wanted to carry on. The reason we have re-group points is so that we can make sure everyone gets there ok. Not everyone was there. In saying that I wasn't concerned about the situation on Weds (I didn't think anyone actually was), but D had to bring it up
By the way, who was sending the PM's telling people off? I'm sure they weren't that serious
All good, I wasn't there so I don't know what happened but the point I'm making is the babying of others and all the unnessesary rules. People are individules, most don't respond well to being bossed around by a self appointed 'king' and the ones that do like being bossed around will grow out of it when their spine devolopes.
Ditch the egos, ditch the 'I'm more experienced' attude that some riders have, don't play riding instructer if it's not asked for and don't play the big man. (Not you Phoenix - I mean in general) How many years you have been riding for or how many posts you have on KB play NO part in how skilled a rider is.
Go out, ride ya bikes, leave the bullshit behind and everyone has a good time...
I believe thats 4 cents now![]()
You're a 'senior' dangerous, or is that OAP?
