Hi All,
I’ve got a little Chinese made moped that I just use for local trips and the 3km ride to the ferry and back for work. The only reason I bought it was that it was stolen recovered so very cheap, a little tatty but cheap, $250 for a bike that was new in May last year. It came with a skid lid but I reckon a bowl of fruit would have given better protection so I got a new one (not a new bowl of fruit, a lid), FFM. It’s the best I could afford and a few people on here seem to think they are Ok. It cost me almost as much as the bike.
The only things that I like about the moped is that it has two wheels and it has opened the door for me to get a “real” bike (the missus was totally against it before).
Now, I can’t get a bike until two things happen....
#1 is obviously get my learners, I live over on the North Shore so will be getting in touch with Qkchk to get my learners, she seems to be good by the comments I’ve read.
#2. Turn the grand old age of 40 in September, according to said mentioned missus I would have grown up by then.
I’m thinking of selling the moped now instead of waiting till I’ve hit the magic 40. I could use the dollars to fund my licence (the missus didn’t say I had to wait till September to work towards getting a bike) but would lose out on being on two wheels for a while. Anyone think this is a good idea?

Completed my basic handling, with the resident trainer on the shore, she's good. Cant wait to get out there.

There is no such thing as bad weather; only inappropriate clothing!
The missus is clueless but you must try to use the situation in your favor. Ride your learners bike with no mishaps for a year or so and the missus might agree to let you get a supersport!
