Who is touring South Island in March?

I'm down in the main land for 3 weeks from 9th march......I know NZKTM & jezzaNZ from Nth Isl are doing quick lap....was wondering who else is down sth in march. Or ar any of you sth Isl people planning a ride

Yeah, I'm doin a quick loop too : with the Rustys SX ride!

Down #1 to Bluff then a bit slower up thru the Maniatoto out to the west coast and back home....whew!

Southern Cross Challenge, there'll be 120 odd bikes riding around (well down to bluff and back).

They'll be riding from East Cape, to Cape Egmont at New Plymouth, to Cape Reinga and then Bluff. Assuming they take the quickest route they'll be doing between 5600 and 6000km's.

Have a safe trip out there guys. I haven't signed up because I have prior family commitments. I'm also aware I have till March 12th to change my mind.

So where are you all stopping for the night. The riders I know at the moment are stopping at;

Gisborne/Whakatane/Opotiki, Taumarunui, Auckland, Auckland, Picton, Omapere.

and

Opotiki, Taumarunui, Aucks, Aucks, Wellington, Dunedin.

So far I have Hicks Bay and Auckland confirmed. Still waiting on the others. Friends and family have to be sweet talked!

But the plan such as it is; Hick's Bay, New Plymouth, Mangonui, Auckland Wellington/Picton, Dunedin, Bluff. I leave it pretty flexible.

Passed a group of bikes all loaded up outside a hotel when I was on the way to work this morning, great day for a ride today, I just get to look at my bike out my shop window all day lol

Just done loop from Dunedin, Middlemarch, Queenstown, Te Anau, Catlins and now in Timaru - hardly seen another bike. I was expecting all the North Island to be down here. Only guy I've seen stopped to talk to was from Canada on a hired VStrom.

We're doing Tokomaru Bay, Hawera, Kaitaia, Wgtn, Chch, Invercargill, Bluff, Wgtn.....Yeah Baby!!

Was meant to be leaving tomorrow but work reared its ugly head and put the end to my plans.

Am now leaving easter Friday come " Hell or high water "
