Angry When will friggin cages bloody learn!

There's been a bloody TV campaign going hard out over the last few months about driving when tired and falling asleep at the wheel, then on Sunday it came to roost to damn close home for comfort .

Late Sunday afternoon my girl friend left my place heading back to Christchurch and within 20mins I got a call saying she'd been involved in a 3 car accident on the Rakaia bridge and was being taken to Christchurch hospital with suspected neck injuries

Some knuckle dragging asshole & wife had just returned from an overseas trip and were driving home to Timaru and fell asleep at the wheel whilst on the bridge and drifted across the centre line collecting the g/f's car (which we'd just brought the weekend prior :slap and the car following her which proceeded to give her another bunt causing her car to end up spinning, smashing into bridge wall and come to rest facing south

The 1st car on site said they'd been following the prick for a bit and had backed off accordingly as he'd drifted across the line a few kms back towards ChCh

The prick is getting done with reckless use causing injury and sure he's going to get a slap on the hand from the system and a healthy dent in his insurance but for fucks sake when are people going to learn

Dam *555 might have helped avoid this but then given my experience with ringing it is sometimes they just don't respond fast enough.

Glad to hear the g/f is ok and not another fatality.
Its not the destination that is important its the journey.

out in this neck of the woods the *555 does sweet FA

it wasn't to flash arriving at ChCh hospital to see her with all the bells & whistles strapped up then having to go through x-rays and CT scan, though thankfully all came back reasonably clear with just slight whiplash and bruises as a result. though seeing the car in person it's a wonder it wasn't worse

where opinion holds more weight than fact.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

Exactly or start beeping your horn/flashing your lights or what ever to see if you can get them to pull over.

A speedy recovery for your g/f, TWR.
My first thought was "Why didn't someone ring *555?"
My second thought was "Why bother? Its never worked for me in the past"
They never seem to "have a car in the area", even though you can pass 3 parked up on the side of the road, within a km of where you made your call...

She is determined to get down to the March Hare so instead of the intended long loop to get there we're plodding our way down the short haul via SH1
