Helping out a friend... should I?

I have a friend who has been riding a 50cc scoot 4 about 3 years and he now wants to move up to a motorbike and wants me to help him find one as he has the mechanical prowess of a biscut. the thing is he is a complete idiot on his scooter and the other day i sw him pull up at my house in jandals shorts a tee shirt and his helmet unclipped... i asked him about the helmet and said he couldnt be bothered doing it up. (its one of the new clippy ones)

i mean yea it would be cool to have a friend who rides too but damn hes a freakin idiot sumtimes.

should i help him find something? maybe i could but i could take him gear shopping first for gloves jacket and a new helmet? or maybe i should let him crash his scoot and get scarred up and wised up? then help him

Show him that ridetolive or ridetodie website.
Some people just can't seem to comprehend that they do not have the right to be unoffended in their lives.

he thanked me after he clipped the back of a food caravan at around 100 clicks and ended in a screaming heap in the culvert.

Oh FFS. He's a friend, yeah? You just said he was.

So help him out with looking for a bike. Who gives a shit if he wheres jandals on his scooter

I've got a friend who does drugs. Do I go, "You're a friend, but I'm not going to help work on your car because I don't smoke drugs and you do"?

We help friends, that's what friends do. We try to guide them but if our opinions differ, we don't judge them and abandom them for it. Do we?

Christ, lose the hollier than thou attitude and give the man a hand.

Jesus. I did a wheelie once. What a cock. Shoot me quick.

Not to start a war or anything, but if encouraged one of my mates to step up to a bigger bike when he was just asking for a hospital, i'd feel guilty as fuck if he got wasted.

My ex-boss jsut got an FXR150, and was riding it with sneakers and a hoodie.
He's not so shit hot, and I told him to ride with my jacket on for a few minutes, and i'd shut up if he didn't feel more confident with it on.
He came to me today in a full suit, Boots, jacket, pants and gloves, told me he felt so much safer.
Horses for courses, but just my 2c worth.

Also, I think I need to hold back some commas in the future. So many

no need to get worked up about this... the guy is concerned for his friends safety. let your friends drink and drive? that sounds responsible, same type of situation or am i wrong?

Granted. We can make a difference.

But the question is, "Helping out a friend...... should I?"

For me it's a no brainer. You help out friends.

Similar to a degree, but by no means the same issue.

Firstly. Drinking and driving is illegal. By "helping out" a friend who was considering D&D you're implying I'd hand him the keys.

Wearing jandals and a singlet on a bike is (thoroughly stupid) but as long as the skid lid's fitted, entirley legal. As previously stated, we do what we can but we're not nannies.

    Let's flip this coin.

You say, "No. You're not responsible enough to own a bike because you wear jandals". Our "mate" says "Sweet as" and jumps on tard me. We already know he's got Skidmarks mechanical skills. He ends up with a ZXR250 that the swingarm pivot bolt hasn't been tightened on and throws himself of a cliff.

Now, do you HONESTLY feel better for taking the moral high ground and not looking this piece of shit over and it's his own fucken fault for wearing jandals? Or do you wish to god you'd gone to have a look with him and told him it's a pirece of shit that he should stay clear of?

    Hmmmmmmm........

Help your friend out and TRY to make hime see the light.

Edit: I'm not worked up, I'm pissed.

What if he feels so much more confident now, he rides harder, faster and stupider?

He rides an FXR150, and thought 10,000rpm on my bike was too much...
Holy shit a moth flew out of my hairtie...
Anywho, yeah yeah point taken, but at least his helmet covers his face, and his skin can't melt off.
Can't buy stupid suppression gear, people get cocky at some point or another anyway.

    P.s. You're mean.
