I read somewhere that he had been testing on it and had raced and won some ruapuna round..? If you look at his times he just cruised in the last few laps anyway, he was prob wrecked from intense 600 races!

Robbie's the man! It was a pity from a spectator's point of view that the other's didn't step up and really push him like they did last year. Still a good battle between Stroudy and Jones in race 2 to entertain us though!

Sorry, I should clarify...from a spectator at Puke's point of view...race one was close for a while until Gareths's bike crapped itself and held the rest up a bit.

It does sound like they were REALLY pushing him at the earlier rounds...wish I coulda been there to see it!!!

Fuck yeah..... they were banging fairings at Manfield, you could have thrown a blanket over the first three on the last corner of the race, It was REALLY REALLY good

There is also the little matter of the new suspension settings we installed into Robbies bike during the practice sessions, these offered a clear improvement and advantage. It actually would have been nigh impossible for the following riders to match the ultimate pace of Robbies bike.
Sam Smiths bike also benefited from a suspension upgrade to the front end ( although quite different to Robbies ) and to that end I am very happy that he was able to steal a win ( nearly 2 ) from Gareth who is very much on form.
Riders are part of the equation ( albeit a significant part ) but there is also a lot of development going on behind the scenes. In fact a lot more than people realise.

Good racing. Buggie just pissed off and left everyone racing for 2nd. Scary how quick that guy is when you look at Gareth Jones, Stroud and Shirriffs. You wouldn't bet on Ray Clee coming in a lonely 4th at Puke, but that's how fast those boys are.

A shame to see the field is shrinking though. The economic climate is definitely hurting a lot of people.
I saw a yellow bike go past, smoking like a chiminey.

It was in 2nd, only a second or so back from bugden, with stroud and a shiffifs chasing it.

Next time they came past he was about 5 seconds ahead.
I presume that the yellow bike had somthing to do with him getting that much of a jump in one lap.
