    How often does this happen?

Off to a job today, along the north western going past the golf course, a white flash from my right and 10m in front of me a golf ball lands in my lane and fucks off at a great rate.

On to the northern swearing and cursing damn golfers and at the fanshaw road exit south bound a guy in a small blue cage decided he really didn't want to take that exit - at the last minute. The white van thought this was a bad idea - you could tell by the way the van was parked in the side of the blue car.

That changed my mood - laughed like fuck.

I've seen someone drive off from the mens tee, hit one of the concrete blocks marking the womens tee, and have the ball flying back over their heads like an exocet missile.

    Now that was funny.

Now that I think of it, I've nearly seen a car taken out by my mate, driving off the tee at Trentham (which runs alongside the road). I mean, what a bloody stupid place to put a road.

Pupuke Golf course on the Norf Shore. The road is alongside the first hole and there could be balls across the road, in the gutters, etc.

I guiltily admit that I completely duffed a Tee shot at the course in Northcote once, which is beside the Northcote Road On-ramp, Ball shot straight across the Motorway. They really should put a small net up to avoid berks like me causing a pile-up.

Don't be so hard on yourself. Was it a hook, or a slice?

World of difference you see, cos a hook is the sign of a good player...

    Must've been a Slice then.

I'm stoked to make Par +1.

Actually, haven't been out for ages. Damn riding chews up most of me free time. Poor neglected clubs. Anyone keen for a round?

Did you just admit, and then actually ask for homo-erotic sex?

Yep that hole at Trentham is bad - admittedly i have driven a ball down the road off that tee(it hooked instead of my normal slice). And man oh man does it bounce on that road. Have witnessed a ball come through there whilst driving on alexander road too - bounced before my car and went accross rather than towards me. Also out at the Judgeford Golf Club have seen a ball hitting the Haywards Road.

Only if it's intentional and you can do it repeatedly. In my case

I've heard of deer being killed by stray golf balls at one of the more scenic golf courses back home.

I've heard about the train being hit by golf balls.

Never heard of one bouncing off the road, but it doesn't seem improbable at all.

Had one bounce off the car bonnet going past the golf course in Rotorua - second bounce tho' so not too damaging.

Mate's longest drive was in Masterton. He dropped it into a passing goods train and it went all the way to Wellington.
I may not be as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I always was.
