    Almost crushed a toddler today

it was late in the day and i was driving a truck around 9 tonnes, a 4 wheeler.
driving down this road, which is quite busy, i spotted a mum with 2 kids standing ready to cross.
about 5-10m away, doing about 40kph with the snake brake on, my foot is off the gas, the toddler decides to run as fast as he can across the road.
so, i have 9 tonnes to stop, the truck is unloaded, and my snake brake is on.

my co worker is screaming, stop, for fucks sake stop.

    i dont even hear him.

i almost put the truck over the traffic island to avoid the kid, i gave him maybe 1.5 m more room.

    i never touched the brakes.
i dont have alot of faith in this trucks brakes, and whats better, 9 tonnes of mass sliding uncontrolled, or 9 tonnes of direct-able mass?

i saw the kid on his knees about i foot from the rear tires as we passed him.
big dual tires on the rear, very easy to go under.

i laughed afterward, i saved the kids life, but should i have braked?

would i have been in the wrong?

Can't imagine your man enough to drive a truck, has to be another pisstake.

Next time try something more believable, Like a thread about sewing or knitting.Something womanly.

Probably the hardest fucker in the universe, Imagine He-man, But twice as manly, and riding a 2 headed beast from hell that shoots flames from its eyes.

And hard hat, can't forget the hard hat.

As a mother who has had the terrifying experience of a very determined toddler breaking away from her clutches near a busy road I commend you for managing to avoid a tragedy.

Bet everyone needed to scrape their daks out after that.

Well done MR Carver sir. Hopefully that little person will never run out on the road ever again!!!

Maybe mum will even invest in some reigns after that episode....
