Nope... the track day companies cater for noobs so you don't get fast guys in your group... it is a very good way to learn skills, where you have the space and time to do so... very well worth it...

As soon as you're comfortable with open road riding you totally should

Group 4 at MotoTT is very mellow pace wise. If you can get around a 40km signposted corner you can get around the tightest corner at Taupo no worries. And honestly no-one minds what pace you go in group 4.

If you're insured with Star or Swann (ideally via Kiwibike brokers) you'll can be covered should the worst happen.

SW 20 puts out less power and doesn't have the grip off the line, evo 4's are slow in comparison, and if you wanna compare an STI, then perhaps we should compare the TRD GT-4?

but yeh I guess we are off topic

Try find a trd gt4. In my experience the sw20 get off the mark very well with the right driver, and they don't bog down on the strip like most 4wds. The comparison was the "best stock car under $10k"

    Google TRD GT4

Show me a stock sw20 that beats a stock GT4 down the 1/4 mile and i'll eat my hat!

Sti's come preloaded with 19 pounds of boost compared to a mere 11 in the GT4 ...oh and the 4 is hella sexy!

No doubt... and you have to respect something that can come off the factory floor and run a 9sec 1/4 (busa) .....

yes this is true, however a sti is built to handel that factory a gt4 isnt you run 19 psi on that factory and what happen's bang eventualy, STI's made that way tuned that way and do it daily its the way it is. so no point saying ..."but a sti runs more boost"

id take the toyota over a lame evo 4, lol

Hey Number One, thanks for the warm welcome

It's great that there are so many girls on the forum and into riding. Perhaps when I discard my noob badge we could meet up for a cruise! Yeah, pretty excited about the mc22- perfect beginners bike, or so i'm told.

Cars! Jesus H. Christ. Shudder. You'll be cured of that in due course.

Genevieve, do get along to a MotoTT day. It's far safer than riding on the road, and you'll be out there with other people riding at your own pace, with tutors circulating to show you lines and analyse your riding with you after each session.

It's amazing how riding on the track improves confidence and skill. All the other KB girls who've tried it will agree on that point, I'm sure.

(I did post to this effect earlier today, but my post got caught up in the great 'jrandom is a misogynistic bastard' purge.)
kiwibiker is full of love, an disrespect.
