I wonder if it was you ??

If I am 'barking up the wrong tree' My sincerest apologies!

I went over the Taka's for a quick/fast blat on Thursday and I think I caught up with the tail enders of the TNT ride! Were you with a guy/being shadowed on a green Triumph?
If so, I am the rider (2up) who overtook you on the section of dual carriageway (before the Taka's proper) and went past shaking his head.

    From my perspective!

Doing 110(ish) and approached a section of dual carriageway, there was a red/black GSX250 tailing a car. The road opened out into two lanes and there was no 'physical' (road position shift etc) indication from the 250 rider of intent to overtake said vechile which was also doing 110(less ish). I went out into the 2nd lane as it just 'opened fully' and was beginning my manouver increasing 'overtaking power'.
As I drew very close to his rear he started to overtake. I admit I was doing 100 um errrrrr kph at this time. The rider may not have been expecting a vechile to close and overtaker so rapidly at the start of a dual section and YES I do accept I made the choice to maintain momentum.
Baicaly the rider relied on rear mirrors with no 'rear observation' and I would guess I was in his 'blind spot' by then. If it was you? Please, please, please read the survival skills section; 'rear observation' or LIFE SAVER and its merits are discussed there in several threads. 'All' I had to do was swing out wider and carry on the manouver, Had I been a high powered cage driver, with 'cage mentality'????

Oh, I saw you from the shadow on my right after the overtaking, so after I hit the slopes I intent to let you slip pass and follow you on but you decided to blast me to bits lol. And up the slopes my 250 drops a substantial amount of power so I'd rather follow someone than blocking them, sorry that I didn't see you before hand, concentrated on the slope ahead.

My mirror is also not very well positioned as I always have to move my shoulder to look behind, you were in the black/blue stripe unit with someone with a white helmet on.

This would be me. 150's smell good (2 stroke) so they gotta go quick. Thats the rules.

Take it easy Rockai and learn to be smooth and just cruise =). No rush, its the road not the racetrack.

Might be out and about this wednesday =). Just need a head light, and a indicator or two.

Still need my right blinker, rear brake peg. I'll be farking extremely careful this time. My pride and pocket is badly hurt now, and I'm loving my bike too much to bin it anymore, in an idealistic world.

and yeah 150's used to be the super-sport or gang-rider back in the days in my country whose parents telling their kids only outlaws ride them and wouldn't let their kids buy one. Then it became popular and everybody got one lol

Yes 4 strokes are for homos. Homo-sapiens that is, who have realized bigger is better.

    About 48 I think...earlier this year.

I was talking to Gordy today, of Gordy's bar in Paraparaumu. He said he would like a photo of all the bikes lined up in his carpark to hang on the wall in his bar.

There is some sense to doing the Paekak hill to Gordys tomorrow - with the southerly the weather will be better on the Coast than on the Hill/ Wairarapa
(have checked - no rain for coast tomorrow)
-With the receding daylight it is easier for folk to get home (with option of PK hill or motorway)
-Gordys can easily cater for an onset of 30+ bikers, and would probably throw out some complimentry nibbles.
Its a good venue for our last official Wed nite social - perhaps we could rattle up a few of the folk that havent been for a while and make it a bit of a party????
Experience......something you get just after you needed it

Nice idea about the photo, but might be a little dark by the time we're all there? Could always make the first sunday ride out to Gordy's for the photo... of course no reason why we shouldn't go there tomorrow night as well.
