Unlikely for the ride tomorrow, but not improbable.

Some bastard nearby has been hard out with a chainsaw or brushcutter for the last few days. Probably not a ktm, though could be a hooskeyvarna.

    morning ladies

because you guys have been generously offering some accommodation and route planning over on the SI invasion thread I figured we invaders have to decide to do one of two rides.

provisional dates are 22-23-24 May BTW

    Option 1
Thurs night 7pm bluebridge ferry to Picton - arrive Picton 10pm stay at Picton or Waikawa
Fri morning blast down hw 63 to St Arnaud for late morning tea.
Do Da Porika and Braeburn with late lunch at Murchison (2 ish?).
Go down the New Creek to Denniston track and turn back at the river.
Get to Reefton about 6 or so and stay Fri and Sat nights
on Saturday do Big River and Waitahu River
on Sunday head to Picton via interesting routes and Nelson/Mangatapu Track

If we did option 1 would any of you guys want to join in?

    Option 2
Do something in the Picton Blenheim area on Fri before spending Fri night in Nelson. Then do whatever you guys suggest over Sat & Sun but heading over Takaka way might be fun.

Problem is the wgtn guys seem to prefer the knarlier end of the scale - ie 4wd tracks rather than just gravel dirt roads. Is there enough challenging rides in your area?

Personally for my tastes it doesn't get much better than the stunning bush of the Big River and Waitahu River type of stuff - I'm in heaven riding that sort of mild 4wd stuff.

would appreciate your thoughts - polite or otherwise....

I got her to say hoos a buray or some such thing but I'm buggered if I can figure out which letters to use so it makes sence in english. Those sweds make some weird noises, espeically the girls who use different inflections on words compared to the guys. Maybe I'm teaching you all how to pronouce these bike names like a girl

    Cheers R

Yup, rumours are true, the little-un arrived Mon morn. We've got a future Katherine Prumm in the making, got her wheeling the cot down the corridors already. She's got the latest Aust Dirt rider mag to sink her teeth into as well, very thoughtful of me I think.......

Over the long bridge out of Renwick toward Nelson and turn left up Northbank Road.
Keep on trucking to the Patriarch turnoff.

We tough Nelsonians however would also go through Onamalutu, Kiwi and Fabians Gully on the way along Northbank however

It loops off Northbank Road and joins back up again further up the valley.
