    Chris Birch training

Did 2hrs coaching with Chris Birch over at Riverhead today. Learn't heaps just have to try to put it all in to practice. It's well worth doing though, and would recommend to anyone thinking about it.

I've been riding under 2yrs (I think) so not an experienced rider, but I'd say he could show any level of rider skills to improve there riding. Did from basic riding postion to technical hill climbs and desents today.

Id recommend training from Birchy to anyone. I did a days coaching with a mate in Taupo with him and man have our cornering speed improved!(seated and standing).
He also showed us -hill climbing, descents and braking, how to use your clutch effectively, basic bike setup and positioning on bike and cornering in ruts, negotiating logs and rocks etc.Chris is a wealth of information and puts it across very well in a relaxed and fun environment- I would recommend him as a coach to anyone who wants to learn how to become a faster rider. His experience and past results in the competitive enduro world speak for themselves over and over again.
    Superb value for money.
Whether you think you can or cant - you will always be right.

Off-Road Motorcycle Coaching at Maddix Park in April

Tauranga is fortunate to have several top level off road motorcycle coaches living in the area and, two of them, Broxy and Niki Urwin, will be running a number of training sessions at Maddix Park during the coming school holidays along with Chris Birch, one of NZ’s international enduro champions.

Peter Broxholme (Broxy) is well known nationwide as a professional rider and coach. He will be focusing on the mini riders. It is a fact of life that no-one ever listens to parents so the morning session on Tuesday 14th April (9am-12noon) is a great opportunity for children aged 4 years and up to gain the basic riding skills and confidence that will make them better on their bikes. In the afternoon session on the same day (1pm -4pm), Peter will work with more advanced level riders on their riding technique.

Niki Urwin has been one of the coaches with the squad of elite NZ Junior riders preparing for the World Champs in Taupo later this year. He will continue sharing his skill and expertise with junior riders with two sessions at Maddix Park. On Thursday April 16th from 9am to 12 noon he will be coaching a novice level group and on Friday 17th April from 9am to noon he will be working with advanced level riders. Adult riders who wish to improve their riding skills are most welcome.

The aim of the coaching is to better enjoy safe and fun motorcycling and, of course, to help start making those champions of the future.

The Maddix Park is the venue with juniors on the main track and minis on the mini and sometimes the main track. Each session costs $35 per rider and each group has a maximum of 12 riders. Anyone interested in the coaching sessions are asked to contact Shelley Dean on 07 544 2251 or maddix@xtra.co.nz .

Maddix Park is also hosting two Trail Riding Sessions with coach Chris Birch. Chris recently won the notorious 3 day Roof of Africa Enduro race. He will be sharing his knowledge with junior riders on Thursday 23rd April from 9.30 to 12.30 (cost $100 per rider) and with senior riders on Friday 24th April from 9.30 to 3.30 (cost $150). Off road motorcycling skills covered include: basic bike set-up, correct seated and standing riding position, using the clutch, throttle and brakes effectively, cornering technique, picking good lines, coping with bogs, logs, roots, up hills, down hills, sand whoops, river crossings and anything else people struggle with.

    To register, contact Chris direct on 021 748 240 or chris@birchy.co.nz or contact Shelley 07 544 2251 or maddix@xtra.co.nz

You realise it only means you have to wait even longer for me now!!!!
On a Motorcycle you're penetrating distance, right along with the machine!! In a car you're just a spectator, the windshields like a TV!!

    Thumbs up Broxy Coaching

    What a day!..
Broxy's training track has a bit of everything from huge sweeping birms, jumps and even a vertical hill climb!
Surface is really sandy in places and took a bit of getting used to for most of us.
Highly recommend as Pete is really approachable and can coach to everybodys ability level.

PS Are PW80's meant to do this (haha)

Broxy is the man. Did a day with him up in Muriwai somewhere, learnt copious amounts of skills.
