RMZ 450 top end clicking noise?

I have a 2007 RMZ 450 which has developed a metallic type of clicking noise in the top end. Had new piston etc about 20 hours ago has always being a noisey engine but this is a new noise. Pulled the cam cover off yesterday everything seems okay valve wise but the cam chain seemed a bit loose checked the tensioner as they are automatic on 07 models and that appears to be maxed on adjustments. Is it common for the cam chain to be that streched out bike has prob done around 80-90 hours total. Anyone else experienced this or any other suggestions as to the cause of this noise.

    Cheers

I'm on the third camchain @ 200 hours on a KLX450R, which unless I am sadly mistaken is very similar to the RMZ, so I suspect you might be up for a replacement .

Check everything else up there - chains usually rattle when loose. Clicking could be something in the valve train maybe?
Whether you think you can or cant - you will always be right.
