Trying to choose

I"ve been test riding a few bikes over the last couple of weeks.
withn my budget, i;ve whittled it down to the choice of a virago with 17000k and a Scorpio with 1000k.

Both are fantastic rides on their own and quite fun.
Which ever bike i get will be used for a lot of city commuting (cutting through cars) and the occasional ride down the line.
The virago rides fantastically. confortable, low and it powerful enough to carry me. and i dont think i look too big on it. (i'm 5'11 and 100kg)
The scorpio sits quite upright. it had decent acceleration and speed, and it really feels nimble along the road.

so i'm really stuck. i am having real problems trying to figure which to go with.
i'll apppreciate any help/advice. i'll need to make a decision in the next day or 2.

get the cheapest one, cos in 12-18mths time you will want a bigger bike to go with that full licence.

My gut feeling is that the Virago will be easier to sell when it comes time to upgrade.

Sorry Dude, thats the one thing about motorcycles that alot of people don't understand, its a personal thing, it doesnt matter what anyone else thinks. my mate whos never ridden more the a 120k wants to get a hayabusa because he heard that it can go 300k plus, I cant fathom his logic.....buy which one you feel the most comfortabel on, forget the rest, your arse will tell you if you made the right choice, good luck

that would probably be a good idea, except they are running about the same price. and i like both. My dilemma probably "is 1 bike better than another around the city" , thus is a worth having a cruiser

either bike you go for is a good choice so you can't go wrong. What is good for one person might be crap for another thats why you have to choose and not let anyone else do it for you.

I've never ridden a Scorpio, but I'm currently sitting out my L-Plate on a Virago as well. It's a great bike, makes for a grand commute and it's just grunty enough for the daily ride. I'll still be trading it in when I get my full, but I'm loving every moment on it.

Virago... no question. But then I am Cruiser Biased so perhaps you should make up your own mind and get the Virago anyway.

For commuting...the Scorpio without doubt.
Longer distances...the Virago without doubt.

Personally I'd simply buy the cheapest which in theory should be the Scorpio as they sell for $1,700 less than the Virago (new pricing).

i pondered long and hard, and have decided to go for the virago. i wasn't overly happy with either of the scorpios i tried, so the virago it shall be.

With all due respect, I disagree, I would think the scorpio would have easier resale, a bit more durable, and "nuetral" in riding style. Just my 2 cents, not saying anyone is wrong, just my opinion!!!

A good choice.

You'll have no problems with the virago when it comes to resale. A quality bike that is miles ahead of the scorpio.

Well I think that if you can handle a Virago around town, it is the better choice. You will easily sell a Virago. It's a classic.

But back on point - yep I agree either bike will be good so go with whatever you feel best on. You have probably made up your mind already!

anybody want to buy a 1988 vigaro with 17000 on the clock?

i've now taken it for a longer rides and discovered i'm too big for it. i'm quite uncomfortable after a while. i'm gonna keep looking and try find a replacement
