So you go a bit slower and its slippery. They should have waited for it to calm down a little. Pedrosa was like..."lets race in the rain". Cmon motogp HTFU.

If I was good enough to race, I would know that sometimes I would be racing in atrocious conditions. Have you people seen what conditions world superbikes have raced in before, now there is racing.

Dissapointed is an understatement. That was crap, at least the 250s were fantastic as well as the 2 laps of the 125.

Motogp is dying. The racers should be holding the umbrellas and the pit girls should be racing.
The problem was the glare from the lights reflecting of the rain(on track and visors) not the rain making the track slippery, if the race had been held anywhere else during the day it would have continued.

yeah, that why i didnt understand the night racing, supposedly it gets too hot but for the previous week temps had been at 25 degress from lunchtime onwards.

An afternoon start would have been best, hell they were practising in the afternoon. Like a mate said "god forbid if a few lightbulbs blew, oh what would they do".

They stated that the lights were brighter than daytime hence all the riders wearing sunglasses...i guess riding with tinted visors would have been an option.

The reason for waiting for the track to dry to nearly 100% is because it's being run at night with the huge lighting power all the water reflects and it's nearly impossible to see where the track goes etc...
Think about when your driving at night in town how it can be really difficult to see white lines and direction arrows and so forth, then think about that at 200+ kph!

not so much the heat as trying to schedule the race in primetime for euro tv viewers, same reason aussie f1 gp has been pressured into looking at running at night (they have resisted so far but now run as late in the day as pos) and singapore being a night gp. Hard to feel compassion for the euro's having to stay up late to watch when we do it all the time, but thats what happens when your an influential market.

they will never change the time slot because a little island with 4 million people want to watch it in the afternoon.
even relatively small cities in europe have bigger populations than the whole of nz.
thats the markets they are playing for.

Maybe they need to think twice about running another night meeting if conditions are going to play a major part in a race meeting being cancelled due to Mother Nature being at her worst.
It effects so many like Race Teams, Riders and Sponsors, and also spectators and others who are involved heavely in putting together the Moto GP.
At least when they hold meetings during the day and the weather is poor they still manage to get out there and race by having wet weather tyres on their bikes and calling it a wet race meet.

I understand they run at Losail at night due to the heat, I reckon they should flag that scene altogether and race at Hampton Downs...
