    High speed Vespa

I was at a Ulysses club meeting in Hamilton, the 'sherriff' was doing his usual fineing for real or imagined misdemeanors when one incident caught my attention - a member was fined because an old model vespa powered past him while he was doing over 100km per hour. Someone has been doing some effective mods, great stuff.

    ???

What's the big deal? I thought many of the Vespas (especially the 250s) were capable of a decent turn of speed.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

    Isn't 60km/h a decent speed for a coop??
It's only when you take the piss out of a partially shaved wookie with an overactive 'me' gene and stapled on piss flaps that it becomes a problem.

A bloke in Pomgolia fitted a RD350 engine into a PX200 back in the early 90s.

That was f'n quick. North of 200kph I believe.

I have seen the same - infact have (somewhere) pics (remember the old printed out photo's?!!) of the H2 motor in the footwell of a Vespa, as well as one with a Honda 500/4 motor, - taken at the original Cold Kiwi site at Six Cross lol

Don't know how you'd do that in a coop frame - but the old YPVS in a Lammy is pretty common:

There's plenty of old scoots around NZ that'll top well over 100, after all you only need to put a Sito pipe on a PX200 to get 110. There's a Lammy in Auckland that'll probably do 140+...and once I get Dave Lobster's chamber onto mine I'm hoping for close to 130..

This is my mate's Li350. The reg is real.

There's some clips of it on a dyno on youtube somewhere. I'll see if I can dig them out.

In that it has a Yam engine in.. yeah.. it is.

But.. It's not a Rossa one. I'm pretty sure it was built by Rob Skipsey. The guy that's got it now bought it off him a few years back. I think it's on its third engine rebuild now..
Still on a drum brake too!
