It seems weird after watching that, that we celebrate Guy Fawkes by burning him on a bonfire.

    Dinners ready!

Ok. I watched that. Probably not the most sensible thing to watch just before supper. However, that is world culture shown in the extreme.

Actually I feel a bit sick to be fair.

This is an example of people living their culture outside of the influences that have moderated our lives. Completely revolting to see out of context like that, but it happens. There needs to be a bigger understanding of other cultures, and maybe, just maybe, a little bit of gentle guidance given to them to conform to our "acceptable" norms.

These people live their lives outside of what we consider to be acceptable, we dont push people into flames for their beliefs.

"Acceptable" norms is open for a huge debate, bearing in mind we have a culture here in NZ of bashing our innocent babies into the next world with frightening regularity.

Can't even run a execution efficiently...

Something just doesn't seem right in that video. You don't sit apathetically on a bon-fire. People jumping to certain death from high-rise buildings to avoid getting burned alive is not an uncommon occurance. Either they were drugged in advance or something's pretty weird.

Nonetheless it's just another example of how ignorance and superstition breeds misery.

Oh and as for Europe - we need look no further back than 65 years to remember what is most likely the greatest atrocity in modern history.
It is preferential to refrain from the utilisation of grandiose verbiage in the circumstance that your intellectualisation can be expressed using comparatively simplistic lexicological entities. (...such as the word fuck.)

So you're ex (NZ) army... This means you have done some basicish training in a field and expected to be desensitized to death? Semi joking so don't get too wound up...

What happened to humanity is that fortunately most of us grew out of superstition and religion and imaginary sky friends.

In the past the Western civilisation was also like that. We call it the dark ages for good reason.

Well now, I agree with you about it being their culture, but I reckon 1000 years of gentle persuasion will make a bit of a dent on their now outlook on life.

That's what the do-gooding missionaries that like bringing the bible to these people to replace their witchcraft/black magic with were also thinking.
