Cliffhanger. There is nothing else like it in NZ...its just so damn fast and exiting. Also I like that you are racing agaist yourself, makes a plesant change to focus on yourself occasionally. Its our own mini TT.
Other than that, The John Britten memorial is the best (racing circuit) event I have been to.

What he said...nothing quite like taking your road bike on a closed road and just working to beat your time from that last run

...but then I have only been a spectator (or not even attended) some of those other ones. Sound of Thunder definitely sounds like a good one to see

For me it's Wanaganui (so far). Am trying to get around to the other street races...eventually...for comparison. Maybe I can finally convince my old lady that's it's all in the name of research, science, etc.

Nothing here can compare to something like the Bol D'Or or Le Mans, but what we do have is still a blast....and a heck of a lot better than nothing at all.

Bring back endurance racing! Those are the best parties.

World Superbike manfield, castrol 6 Hour / Champion 2 Hour in its heyday. As far as current stuff is concerned & if public opinion/attendance is the deciding factor then it would have to be Wanagnui & Paeroa

I'm busting to get down South for a squirt but of the 1 day events I've done so far I see it like this:

Wanga's: great atmosphere but a pokey lil' 1 1/2 gear track. I might have enjoyed it more if I hadn't blown a fork seal and had a pogo stick for a front end.

Paeroa: exciting track to ride, loved the flat out kink on the front straight, poor pit space, had a few issues with organisation but would have enjoyed it more if I hadn't busted my collar bone 3 days before hand.

Taupo Spectacular: best atmosphere (amongst competitors), best organisation by far, only blighted by running the motard track instead of the long circuit....oh and unrepaired pogo stick front end.

Cliffhanger: a unique event in NZ, awesome road, organised well and has a great atmosphere in the pits. My only bugbear was the road condition in 2008 after they screwed up the resealing but it sounds like it wasn't too much of an issue in 2009. Of all the current events listed this probably has the biggest growth potential, it's a bit of a hidden gem for a lot of folks

Cliffhanger...no contest. Even after my $hitty bad luck this year I'll still be going next year.

The Marlboro Series, if you were too young, sorry ! Gaz.

You'd never go hungry with Nigella Gaz.
If it weren't for flashbacks...I'd have no memory at all..
