    crazy...
Actually that ST has my eye. Looks like a great tourer and I know there are plenty of people who have plenty of good things to say about them.

`15 year old 250 that has done just over 100k per year for its entire life. That sounds a lil dodgey.

Welcome to the hell that is buying your first bike - people rip you off coz you don't know any better, you're forced to pay the high prices coz the market's captive.
In space, no one can smell your fart.

Yeah, i agree. it was the sheepskin seat cover though, on the ST1100 that sold it for me.

hell yeah. i am at both ends of the spectrum right now. Half looking for a 250 for the little woman to ride and half looking for a bigger touring bike for me.

Is she interested in learning to ride Lance? You Probably only want to get a cheap biker < $1k so that if it gets dropped you don't loose to much money. You looked at trail bikes - just another option as well.

How much money are you looking to spend for your self. I was quite suprised with my new 600 that it is actually fairly comfortable including the pillion seat (Yip I've had a go on the back - let my brother have a drive) and has a lot more low down compared to my 600F.

Another bike that you might be interested in is a GSX750E 1983-8 ish. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Mo...n-67800513.htm
Lots more torque than the 600F and much better on fuel. I toured the south island a couple years ago. I was riding my 600 and my Uncle was riding a 750 same as the above bike riding two up and I was putting a couple more $$ every stop and he could still out drag me on the straights
Life is difficult because it is non-linear.
