the track was a bit soft going for too much - one good jump at the start but what I saw was mostly hard slog through the trenches.

That was a good day,I enjoyed myself. Some outstanding riding alright - and to go that long at that pace it showed fittness was the biggest factor. The top riders,Katherine included just kept the same pace the whole moto, but you could see the lesser riders getting fatigued from halfway on,you could see they didn't have the strength left to fight the front wheel in the sand.Man they were hitting some of those berms hard, and some big ruts formed.

In the old days I'd be willing the lone 4 stroke on in a sea of 2 strokes....now I want the underdog 2 stroke to win.The 250 2 stroke was a good race, but so was the big 500cc race.

It was a great show by organisers, riders and spectators. No wonder the road racers dispare - packed grids for every race, all keen young riders, you could see they were really enjoying the day.Spectators of all ages....and sexes, lots and lots of nice girls....everyone was there.Crowd control non existant - and un needed, people used their own judgement and crossed when the track was clear, even in the middle of a race,no problem. You could stand right by the track, and close to the corners if you were game - spectators would lean over the track and urge their rider on,this is spectator involvment, stuff you just don't get at a boring road race meeting.

I might go back next week - we have trials there sometimes too. They are holding Mercer as the wet venue if it's too wet up the road.

    cool pics,

thanks to everyone who turned up, was a great day, some upsets and some awesome racing, the club is really happy with the spectator turnout, and only one injury,

Biggest upset, Shaun Fogarty taking the 250 2 strokes from Darryl and Shayne King, awesome racing
