What is it about Upper Hutt, SUVs and motorcycles?

Glad he's relatively ok - went through there about 8am this morning, so must of just missed it - there are some real nutters driving on SH2 in a morning! (esp from the Maungaraki lights onwards), a guy cut me up whilst texting!

Yeah, on my ride home tonight I was alongside a guy who was texting as he was driving - he was all over the road... I dropped back when I saw what he was up to, just to give myself some space if I needed it - then as soon as there was a gap, I got past him sharpish!!

Riding a bike really does sharpen your understanding of how alert you need to be with regard to the road and other road users - and that carries through when you get into the car. It does for me now anyway.

He's a bit sorry for himself tonight and his elbow is rather large and spongey - he'll be fine tho.

Now we're trying to source even more parts for his bike than we were before his accident (anyone got any straight GN250 handlebars they don't need?! LOL)

I’m sure some people out there just use rear vision mirrors just for checking there hair. My mother got dinged the other day the same way. This darned cowboy came over to her lane and dinged the side or her car, at least this guy stopped. Wished I’d been there, she beats people up just with her eyeballs….

    Information for BRONZ?

    Hope hubby gets well quickly.

If we had a list of all of these types of incidents where cagers etc just drive away oblivious of the damage they have caused to motorcyclists it would be pretty long and that's just the ones on KB!

This is perhaps the sort of information we should be gathering for the guys that are trying to revive "BRONZ" so that they can wake up the LTSA! John.

It really makes me think "What an asshole!" (Not your hubby - the other guy!)

Sorry to hear that old GN needs more bits than it did before, but glad to hear that hubby is relatively OK. Best wishes and hope the elbow desponges soon...

Thinks quietly to one's self, "is this a piss take?".

I would think that any Asians who are members of this forum would probably not be that thin skinned.
Asians actually have a sense of humour too you know!

It's a worry the old SH2 run from Upper Hutt to Welly.

Hope hubby gets better soon. I'll watch out for the two of you on the GN250 in the mornings then ... until you get his fixed.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.
