Don't stress about it as long as you have all your T's crossed and I's dotted you guys have nothing to worry about.

    It's more a heads up for;
    a) the faster guys.
    b) those without the correct licenses.

Don't stress about it WarlockNZ - Maverick wants to join the police and he's leading so will be legal pace. I'm an old fart with too much fear to go fast and I'm bringing up the rear - at legal pace. so long as everyone else stays in between us then no-one will get booked.

It's a shame they should be wasting so much resource on us since there's a turf war going on in Otara....or hadn't they heard?
In space, no one can smell your fart.

Do we really want to be represented by a Hyosung?

Though, yeah it does suck... and i've got it for about 18months I think. Usually a few places to stretch your legs a bit though.

(lol jking... this bike bashing is contageous!)

If the plods want to follow you around then lead them a merry chase I say! Form up in two lanes and drive on the button and cause congestion all around East Auckland.........hell do it down the motorway as there is no minimum speed limit If you cant fly make it a little protest about the 70kph speed limit.

I could say so much right now ... but i'm not going too :P .. there is nothing wrong with the hyo bag and the 1100 i passed in traffic this afternoon will testify to that ... mu ha ha .. my issue is plain and simple .. the boys in blue are wasting their time on enforcing a law that is an ass .. and we should do something about it ... i'm reading a forum post at the moment about the 70k limit .. everyone agrees it's stupid, but no one is doing anything to get it changed .. this boggles the mind .. the fact that the guy in front (sorry Mav) wants to be a cop, will not stop him from enforcing the law .. it's the LAW .. my old mans a cop, has been since before i was born, so i know a little bit about the police... here's the deal ... once i'm finished reading the thread .. i'll be posting a comment of my own.. i aim to present a petition to parliment to lift the 70km limit on a learners. nothing more ... we can get into the power to weight stuff later .. 70k makes us a road hazzard and the law needs to be changed.

The colour of your bike is a hazard without you travelling at 70kph

Nah your right about the stupidity of the limit.......I favour civil disobedience

Well in seriousness I think trying to get it 'lifted' would be a waste of time, though perhaps i'm just being pedantic over your choice of words. Making it condition specific towards something could probably be a better bet. But i'll support it...

In all honesty I think (and I know theres a similar train of thought for you older guys, albiet for a different reason) making me legally unable to ride over 70kph anywhere on the road for 6months is rediculous, and I know you older guys feel the same considering young kids can get such fast cars etc no problem.

I'd help if I could with an effort Warlock...

And don't mind the bashing, it's more to get a response then anything serious :P It's actually a sexy bike.

Most of the roads I ride on have 80 kmp/h limits or are twisty enough that sitting at 80-100 kmp/h along the short in-between straights isn't really a problem.

So I think a sensible move would be to push for an increase in the limit by 10 kmp/h, which would mean most people would travel at 89 kmp/h or less and be less of a hazard to other motorist on the open road.

Most car's travel at 90 - 100 kmp/h anyway so it'd only be marginally slower.

What the hell? I come back from a ride out to Botany Honda after I finish schooling the next generation of preverts and politicians, spend hard earned dosh on a rear tank bag ($89), new headlight ($37.50), oil filter ($15), paddock stand ($20) and a litre of Motul (god knows how much $$) - ride out to my Uncles to beat up on my cousins and leer at my cute cousins and I find this shite!

I'll wear the Lahuzer plate, drive at the nana speed of 70kph, indicate 3 seconds before turns, no blatting or fanging the revs while in neutral, escort old ladies across the road, pay my taxes, not rip off the warning labels on mattresses, not run in my house with sissors, no jay-walking, not think about sex every 3 seconds, put out the recycle bin, take a long walk by the beach, not think about sex every 3 seconds, donate old clothes to city mission, reduce C02 emissions, vote for the bastards in parliament, mark all my students work on time, not think about sex every 3 seconds, join my neighbourhood watch scheme, always use the golden rule and the magic words, not think about sex every 2 seconds, remember all my friends birthdays, not think about sex every second...oh damn...

Damn damn and double damn, you got me started, I should be out riding!

The law should be the same for all ..if a newbie can jump in a car that can do 200k and all they have to do is display an L plate we should be able to do the same thing .... even if the petition fails i can see a human rights issue here, based on discrimination ... but shit ... just sign the damn form!
