Aprilia RS 125

I noticed quite a few threads regarding the Aprilia RS125. While checking out the Cagiva Mito 525SP, I grabbed the pics and specs of tne new RS125. It looks a lot different form the earlier models, and surprisingly for an Italian bike, is very Japanese inspired in it's appearance. The technology looks right up there too. Check out the swingarm and the radial Bremo caliper on the front disc.

Does it really need that 150/60 on the rear? My rg does fine with a 110.

Edit - Of course it does, to fit radials. Duh.

I actually perfer the Previous models. Im biased though I had a 1995 one as my first bike. Had the 150 rear tyre but not the radial brake. Didnt really need it.

Voted the 3rd best handling bike of all time - by a UK mag.. now thats some feat surely?

Best looking bike Ive seen for ages, these should be good sellers in todays Leaners market - where all the new sub-250's are either crap, are slow, or are a 1980's bike that has been reproduced - I ridden an Aprilia MX125 (same engine as the RS) and they are hellishly fast... my brother claims he got 200+ on it

10k though... a lot of money for a bike that has an engine where 7/8 people who I knew had them had blown them up pretty quickly

I did that. Circlip holding gudgeon pin in came loose and journeyed north

well don't know if many people have heard but instead of our 250 limit with gns and such my homeland (UK) has a 125 learners limit and so italy did these perfectly for just such a rule and so these are the most highly prized uk learners bikes around fastest you can get sort of a job

yes it does the handeling is second to none with performance to match

Yeah but in the UK, you have to have them restricted to 12.5hp, rather than their full 33hp... Of course, no-one does...

The new RS125's are a very sharp looking little bike and I would quite like to take one for a spin. Mt Edens have one on their showroom floor at the moment. I think they are around $11k new.
