I don't know if it is a repost either, but its a good ad, we need it on telly here to drive home the message, but saying that it could be a double edged sword.

Bikers would see it as "Hey pay attention to us on the road", non bikers and parents of wanna be bikers would say "See how dangerous motorbikes are?"

    hhmmmm, makes you think.....

I search the outside, search inside

I reckon it's time they did another advt like this. I can recall seeing one years ago on TV. I did quite like the one they did on intersections with the Lord of the Rings theme and all the warriors running past.
Then came the day when cages were confined to zoos.. and the bipedals ruled the earth again.. Tu@ advt # 666 Return of the beasties

Unsure if ads like these are enough to change the driving behaviours of soome on our nations roads. Love to see the hard data on whether campaigns like this actually produce results.

They do in the early stages of the campaign. But it is well documented that diminishing returns apply, as the viewers become de-sensitised to the graphic nature of these ads.
The only long-term fix would be to ban vehicles altogether....but even then the retards out there will just find another way to kill us and themselves.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Making a lasting change to driver behaviour is a big issue. I wonder what really works. In Australia (some states only I think) during holiday periods when the road toll generally rises by a fair bit, they double the demerit points and fines for traffic offences. I think the effort needs to start way before that though - back when young people are learning to drive. Compulsory re-testing of all drivers on a 5 yearly basis has its merits too (aside from the additional $) but I'm sure there would be ways around that. Lower road toll = less money spent on rehab and hospitals, etc.
