Thanks for that SuperDave... I don't think that my area has a driving school, would be great if they did, I'll have a look around, maybe talk to a few people.
*goes off to read the forums and maybe talk alot of shit*

im sure you wont have any trouble finding anybody to take you for a ride. (yes i saw your profile pic,)
plenty of rides get organised on kb would b good to c u at some of them. even if you dont have a bike yet you would b more than welcome.
Remember, when somone annoys you that it takes 42 muscles to frown,...
it only takes 4 to muscles to extend your arm and bitchslap the f#%#er upside the head
Welcome to the site.
Try get your licence as soon as you can even if you dont have a bike, those waiting periods are a killer.
You know you had a good nite when you have to ask someone if you had a good nite.
how you doin
That would be awesome - thanks.plenty of rides get organised on kb would b good to c u at some of them. even if you dont have a bike yet you would b more than welcome
So I should try for my Learners before I even try to learn to ride?Try get your licence as soon as you can even if you dont have a bike, those waiting periods are a killer
Welcome aboard the site.
There is a guy in Wgtn that is really good at the whole instruction/licence thing - I would recommend giving him a ring for info.
Andrew Templeton: 04 232 0110 or 027 245 9510
Check his website: www.roadsafe.co.nz
Experience......something you get just after you needed it
what are you trying to say....I shower....so do they.....and no not together!!
lissa....cruz into dave anderson motorcycles in masterton....and have a chat to andrew in sales....he'll be able to help you get the details of the local wairarapa guy that does motorbike training and licences..andrews a good sort and really patient and helpful....he'll answer all your questions....even the ones you probally think are silly...
Thats awesome guys!!! Thanks for your help. I went past Dave Andersons yesterday, but was too *shy* to go in. Its nice to get some support, most people I have told that I want to learn to ride, have either gone silent on me, laughed, told me its too dangerous, or just to stick to riding on the back with someone. Anyway I will go in and talk to them... thanks you rock! and squeeky clean
Belated Greetings - plenty of info and shite on the threads in here! Glad to hear you making the transition onto two wheels of freedom, I did a lot of lurking in here reading up plenty of stuff.
Get into a basic handling course, grab some books about the art of motorcycling riding (reading is a must!), study up the old Road Code for Motorcyclists and when you're ready with BHS cert in hand - book yourself in for the test!
And don't forget, the only stupid question is the question you don't ask! Happy travels in the wonderful world of two wheels![]()

Not sure if this is the right thread to talk about it, but any way in case anyone’s interested. I have contact details for motorcycle training in my area, and will give him a ring tonight... Yippeee. Its not cheap but worth it if I want to learn the right way. Although I might want to go for the one-on-one instructing so I don't make an ass of myself in front of others. Also been offered a bike to buy (brand new apparently) so will be looking at that soon. So the next thing is to get some information and books to read I guess. Weeeeeeeeee
Have you searched the forums about the pros and cons of bikes yet?
what sort of Brand New bike are you being shown?
What do you intend to use it for?
How long do you plan to keep it?
I've spoken to a few people who have regretted their choice of first bike and have ended up out of pocket as a result - this is a good place to ask questions.
For example - I regret buying a VTR at $6200 - should have bought a Spada at $4000 - then I wouldn't have felt so bad about the bike sliding down the road 3 weeks after I bought it!
In space, no one can smell your fart.
cant go wrong with a GN Lissa.. if you ass off it ( which isnt a matter of IF so much as WHEN..) its really no big financial hit.. sturdy little machines .. good value for $$
pop it on TardMe in a year and move up to a nice 400 or 650
EDIT: definatly go get your license ASAP..
When I am ready to buy a bike I will most differently be on the forums asking questions... don't worry about that
As for going for my licence... I will (I want it done by my next birthday, a little goal of mine) First though, (which is highly important) I have to learn to ride the damn thing![]()
Lissa, as soon as you get a bike you need to hook up with Cowpoos. He's in your area. You'll be perfectly safe with him cause he's gay although he rides like a hetrosexual so you'll learn a bit.
