Welcome to the site Lissa. Hope we see you on a bike out in the 'rapa soon.
I should mention that there is a big meeting/ride at MartinBorough on the 1st of Oct (see link for it in my signature). If you want to meet some local riders then this would be a good opportunity. Bike not necessary (sp?).

How long do you reckon it would be, before you will buy the bike??????
Now that is the question...!
Do you also have your Learners license yet?
You could start getting some gear now...
I would say leave the helmet to nearer the time, as they do have a use by date....
Buy gloves and boots now... to get them all worn in.
Gloves: summer and winter ones.
Do you feel you may loose or put on weight before you buy the bike?
Cos that can make a difference about buying the right sized bike jacket and bike pants.
My 2c, if you own 2 wheelers, (farm bikes?) then you probably know how to ride, and though the road is different to offroad, the skills do cross over easily.
Get the license (sooner is better, even if you aren't going to get a bike for a while, cuts down the time between upgrade steps) Buy the gear, this will motivate you to get the bike, which will motivate you to ride!! Which is good!!

I am in the process of looking for a 250 at the moment, and have started reading the roadcode. I had no idea the process for getting your full license was so long and involving (although being over 25 has its benefits there). I will most defiantly get the gear soon... well the gloves, boots and prob a helmet to start with. Can't wait to learn!!

Its an exciting time that you only get to do once. The first time you wind your first bike is great. Have fun!
