Im doing the full nats this year and all going to plan next year.
But it is a heck of a commitment.
3 days per meeting and the travel time between meetings.
I must say Im not in agreement with the extra cost grumble--but Im seeing it more as a case of cost broken down into laps of the track availabble to me not number of races --And at national level theres a heck of a lot more laps available in practice than at any club meeting.
I think the extra $75 odd dollars to enter a national meeting is a drop in the bucket to the other costs of racing

Is there Pre 89 Jnr class at the Nats ?

Otherwise I could be keen for F3, even on my old dunger...haha

I want to get three meetings below my belt so I can race at Wangas this coming boxing day. They say street racing is much more dangerous, but at least there are no cars, everyone is going in the same direction and there are hay bales in front of lamp posts.....not like back in the day when I was a bit younger and had no worries.

yer there were 32 riders on the grid for streetstock last year, the next biggest class had only 17!!! They run streetstock at Ruapuna, Levels and Teretonga (thats all the rounds) for the nats

YODA and his buddies are doing a fantastic job with that scene down there.

I watched all those races last year, and there were riders that stood out like bogs balls to me

    was fantastic to see

You seen this year's entry fees yet? All up gonna cost $970 for five rounds. Definately alot more than $75 a meeting, closer to $150 more than a club meeting. Yeah you do get that more laps than a club meeting, but not a heap more, you've got to remember its over 2 days aswell (or 3 if you use the friday practice day).

The best thing about the nationals is that everyone seems to step up their game. Even though at the previous club meeting they thought they were going at 110%, everyone seems to find an extra second or two which makes the competition so much more fierce. At this stage I will be doing all the south island rounds. But due to the recent change in date of the manfeild round I'm not sure if I will be able to justify the extra week off work to stay up in the NI. Will have to see closer to the time.

SHIT 32 riders!! that would be great to race in. I race F3 at the club rounds already. Yeah I about mid - back of the pack on the 150.

But for all the time and money, racing F3 on a 150 doesn't work. I race to Win. If I raced purely for fun i wouldn't ever do nationals. Maybe we should try get a 150 national class??

I find it fun carving up all the newbie riders on their 400s and SVs in F3, and sure i race to win too, but i can't expect that to happen anytime soon as of lack of experience....

i spose i cant talk though, i brought my bikes and dad pays all the entry fees and petrol, etc.

I always had figured it would be exclusive in terms of entry, obviously I am not the fastest out there, but I am planning on doing it, where else will you get so much talent and experience in one place??

I am gonna do that nats. Will be a great learning curve and I will be happy if my lap times drop.
