It is the Yamaha Scorpio though. Indonesian, and only 225. Which will count against it, I think.

    Some specs

    Yamaha Scorpio

    Scorpio
    Engine Type 4-stroke "SOHC"
    Piston Displacement 223 cc.
    Bore x Stroke 70,0 mm x 58,0 mm
    Compression Ratio 9.5 : 1
    Carburator
    Gear System 5 Speed
    Clutch System Manual, Wet,Multi Plate
    Ignition System AC CDI
    Starter System Double & Electric
    Suspension System
    Front :Telescopic
    Rear. Swingarm
Brake System Front : Disk Brake
    Rear. Drum Brake
    Dry Weight 131 kg.
    Fuel Capacity 12 Liter

That's the Indonesian model. can't find anything else that's not in Indonesian

Hi Blackbird. That was me at Okoroire on Sunday with a customer who I sold the black FZ1-N to. The only two on the road in NZ at present except one that is doing the bike mag rounds at the moment.

WE don't have much info on them at the moment. The bikes will be here in a few days and we should have all the specs by then. I just wanted to get it known that they are arriving soon as we have had a lot of inquiries about them.

So your importing a bike that you don't know anything about, hmmm confidence inspiring, altho, knowing yama singles, it'll be reliable, and slow of course, really, really slow

Yamaha knows all about what they are importing, they just haven't released all the specs to us yet.

Y'reckon many owners will be braking often enough , hard enough, from high enough speeds for rear brake fade to be a problem ?

Spokes? Arrgh! And sorry. I'd rather shell out a few more dolleros for the two cylinders and better specs that Mr Kawasaki is offering with the GPX250.

Sorry, should have said hi. Was drooling over them but you weren't around at the time. The dribble marks are probably mine

Might just get one for the missus - she's a very learner at the moment and finds the VTR a bit daunting.

So is Honda's VTR 250 still the best new 250 available in NZ? (yeah I know it's also the most expensive!)
