Cop did a U turn to follow.
Now I don't have a problem with that at all. I've never said the cops should not attempt to stop offenders. My issue is with how far they sometimes take it.
I'm just pissed off at the weasel words and childish pedantry of the Police spooksperson in this case.
It's quite clear that THEY ARE NOT TO BLAME FOR THIS CRASH. (Just so my opinion is quite clear on this one)
    Speed doesn't kill people.
    Stupidity kills people.

A local guy on his Kawa sporty was chased at speeds reaching of up to 240kph, the bike was doing those speeds, and the cops were chasing. They started chasing him at Windy ridge heading back to Warkworth, cops had a car at the cnr of Woodcocks rd to stop him, but steve..(not his real name ha ha ) turned left in Woodcocks, cos he lived out that way, and fanged it home with the cops in hot pursuit....
They were told to back off by 'coms' when they said what speeds were being done...... Steve..(not his real name ) was on his learner's and on a 750. this happened a while ago and the cops have never caught up with Steve..(not his real name )....

IF THE COPS DIDNT CHASE THAT STOLEN MERC PEOPLE WOULD HAVE ALSO COMPLAINED WHAT WERE THEY TO DO , I JUST GET REAL PISSED WHEN THE PIGS CONTINUE TO CHASE KNOWING THAT THE CHASE IS GETTING TOO DANGEROUS TO CONTINUE OR NOT BACKING OFF WHEN COMMS TELL THEM TO, AFTER ALL 100 STOLEN CARS DOES NOT EXCEED THE VALUE OF EVEN ONE INNOCENT BEING INJURED OR KILLED, IN THIS CASE AT THIS POINT IT LOOKS LIKE JUST ONE OF THOSE THINGS

So obviously I cannot say anything about the whole deal, but there is one clue as to weather it was a pursuit or not, which is public knowledge if you look hard enough. The Police Eagle was first on scene..... Now I wonder why that was.

(lift off from mechanics and be at the Dome valley in 35 seconds??)

On another completly unrelated topic, I say good on the cops for pursuing crims, thats what they are there for.
Just because the eagle was airborne doesnt mean it was a pursuit at the time of the crash , it may well have been called to search for the merc and quite possibly have arrived soon after the crash....either way who fucking cares I`d rather they stoppped the crims b4 they had the chance to commit crimes.

Returning home from Hamilton yesterday I was undertaken by a prick driving half on the shoulder/ half on the grass to the left of the inside lane of the motorway just coming up to the Bombay off-ramp, I watched him coming up in the rear view mirror, and he was in one hell hurry!......He went off at Bombay, so did I. He parked his car and strolled over to the Golden Arches and sat down at a table with 3 guys......before I had even been able to light a ciggie (shaking hands and all) there was a HP car parked accross the back of his car, and 2 unmarked Mazda 6's in the carpark...this guy did a runner into Mac Donalds, out the service doors and into the bush, then we got Eagle and a dog car...this happened in the space of a few minutes.....

The cop I gave my details to said he was facing "several" dangerous driving charges as a result of being chased up the motorway....I mean this guy had collected a road cone, it was wedged up inside the rear drivers wheel arch...

He scared the crap out of me, and several other drivers that also pulled in to complain.......but he was being pursued, and he was running.........and there by the grace of God go I......sigh.........

And endanger buddying motorcyclist with the hazards his dismembered body parts would present?

His body would look something like this. That particular picture reminds me of the juicey $5 lamb shanks available from a bakery in Silverdale; makes me foam at the mouth just thinking about it. They need a good helping of salt though...

My Opinion: I think this event highlights the opportunities of wealth available by investing in funeral services and consumables. 6,000,000,000 + potential customers, how is that for a potential market base, WOW!

If you are going to do a runner and get killed in the process you got no one else to blame but your self. Stolen car or not.

I never said that you deserve to die. Not even you Winj. Yea yea we all know that the justice system is a blow job without the orgasim, but bottom line Winj you decide to turn the throttle, don't blame any one else for that decision reguardless of the outcome.
