Please just remember that, even if you have been badly treated by some absconding male "non provider" we may have sympathy for your situation but "we" still get the bill for it and "we" have had no say in the decisions that "you" made for "us".

Anything that is "free" in this world means that someone "else" is paying for it! Yes that is "us" the Taxpayers.

A thank you would be nice rather than your scathing attack (above) on your benefactors! Cheers John.

I can assure you I HAVE paid my fair share of taxes.. looking after other peoples kids.. running holidays programmes.. & as a co-ordinator of an after school programme.. as well as other jobs!! & it was NOT MY CHOICE as you suggest.. yes, I was treated badly by an absconding male.. who took a fancy to a nympho bimbo at his work & chose to bonk her... (typical male.. thinks with his LITTLE head!!) we split up.. 6 WEEKS later.. she was off with someone else.. I was left with an 8 year old & an 18 month old to pick up the pieces.. alone! what should I have done.. said.. "aawww.. it's ok honey.. lets pretend nothing happened..."??? There ARE SOME people out there who make the benefit a cozy way of life.. & support their smoking & drinking habits whilst on it.. I am not one of them! I am doing everything I can to make sure my kids are well fed, clothed, educated & are very much loved.. & I am educating myself so I can be in a position to help other people who find themselves in similar positions to what I had to deal with! & don't forget.. there are plenty of solo fathers out there too.. do they get bad press too?????

"pop" stars ..when is hunting season for these scumbags?..

you see the " Role Models" on TV every week in trouble with the law over booze or drugs ..no thanks ..

Paris Hilton is a pig ..Brittney Spears deserves every ass kicking she fucking gets .. who fucking cares .. the local celebs get their noses in the air and think they are better than everyone till someone knocks him the fuck out ( BOO YOW!!)

the REAL role models are the parents who work their asses off and sacrifice to raise their kids.....everyone else is an Air Thief

I just want to say... I don't think there is a more stressful, hard job then being a solo mum or dad, They need as much support as they can get... just my two cents.

Folks, just a wee preenmptive warning. Don't let things start getting personal, OK. Remember, play the ball not the man (or woman). These are issues where there are going to be different opinions. Lets respect the other persons right to their opinion , and not move that into judgements on people.

That saves a lot of unplesantness, and saves me having to move a lot of posts . OK?

    Cool

oldrider - Just to let you know that those on the DPB or any other benefit also pay taxes..... yep they do....
They used to get the yellow IRD form every year...... in fact once upon a time they had to fill in all the same forms... but over the years they changed it.

And if they even work for a few hours a week they have to pay secondary tax on those wages... working is classed as a second job for those on a benefit.

so maybe you owe an apology to those on any benefit..... from you to them.

or maybe cut the Welfare State right out ..

Economic Darwinism coupled with a increased police presence paid for by the money that ISN'T being paid to those who wont pull their weight ..get the absent parents to actually PAY thier child support .. ( in the States .. they take it right out of your pay..no "but i have bills!!" bullshit..)

( i am generalizing of course .. there are many who really need the DPB but lets weed those who are just LAZY out )

my mom was a solo mom while dad was in Viet Nam.. yes .. we got dads pay in the mail.... but mom STILL worked from home babysitting or doing ironing or stuffing envelopes.. she grew a garden and sold the vegies at the market on the weekends

i was a solo dad for 2 years before coming to NZ.. i worked nights so i could hang with the boy after school ( he came with me to NZ BTW)

" i cant work due to family commitments" is a cop-out

You're onto it crashe!!! we do pay tax out of our benefit! & maintenance payments that fathers (are supposed) to make.. go to the IRD.. the mothers don't get it!!! & visa versa.. & should we start working.. then we get taxed PLUS the maintenance payments that we then DO get.. are ALSO taxed!!! :slap: & round & round we go..

Also just a note worth mentioning... on the dpb.. once our youngest child turns 6.. we are then required to undertake some sort of work position or do study. It ain't an 'easy' free ride these days!

Are you trolling, or are you a cunt in real life, too?

And it's 'pipsqueaks'. Although I suppose one could be a 'pimp' squeak. But you'd need, like, a cheap white polyester suit. In a small size.

You're dumb monkeys going no where. Stop judging people based on insecurities with the decisions you've made in your own life.
oh i dont know .. i do ok.. and the ONLY person i judge myself against is ME..i have no role models .. never have ..never will..

i looked up to my Dad when i was a kid .. then when i was older .. i tried to prove that i was better than him instead of trying to be a carbon copy.. he was Army Special Forces .. i was a US Marine( i played Tuba in the Marine Band.. ).. he worked VERY hard .. i work SMART..

Crash, with all due respect. If you are being paid out of taxes and you are taxed, then it is just the same thing! Other people are paying for you! You are not "contributing" to the tax fund, just giving a bit back!

I am not entering into whether or not it is deserved or whether one is a good or bad person, just that anything for free means someone else pays. Cheers John.

Judging by that comment; I'd say you have a few of your own.

My second thought after seeing that headline was that all the judgemental and holier than though people will the loudest. I detest hero worship of those unworthy, and also detest public judgement of those who dont seek it.

Maybe she wants a baby with her partner?

    MyGSFX,
I was talking hypothetically about "you" not really making a judgement about yourself.

When I read the post again I thought it did sort of get at you personally but that is not what I intended, how could I, I don't even know you!

So I apologize for any personal inference you may have taken from it.

However I do not take back what I said about taxpayers having to pay for other peoples decision making when it goes wrong and yes Beneficiaries are taxed but that is ridiculous when they are giving back a portion of tax received! Why do they bother with that charade.

I am not against beneficiaries as such, my son is a beneficiary but beneficiaries are just that, they benefit from the wealth of "others" who give to them; I.E. The Taxpayers!

Beneficiaries pay tax but they do not "contribute" to the Tax take! How can they? They don't produce anything fiscally tangible!

Anything that is free means simply, someone else is paying, the government have very little money, they steal it from others and spend it on things that benefit themselves. (Votes) Think about it, you have nothing to feel guilty about, thankful perhaps but not guilty! Cheers John.

PS: There are some real bastards about, I have a daughter and I have two grand daughters, I really feel for your situation and there but for the grace of god, go I. For what it is worth you have my respect, good luck with your struggle.

True, they haven't broken any law and she probably can afford to pay and hasn't asked for any benefit help that is known about.

They have entered into a bond and are producing one of life's miracles and without requesting permission from us! What is our problem?

I, like most of you, felt disappointment, for the obvious reasons but that is probably more about us than them!

Good luck to them. Cheers John.
