[QUOTE=svs;777039]the whole part about having to complete 3 meetings is because the street races are more dangerous than the track - there is no run-off etc.

it's easy NZ. Don't knock it - but it'll change if there's too many numpty's on the track.

Hey Phil, how many dissapointed riders do you think there is going to be with there entries being declined

I can understand the safety issues - but if you're entering two classes at each round, you are getting twice the track time as someone only entering one class......yet it isn't considered that way ??

and twice as likely to crash

seriously though, your logbook doesn't record each individual race that you complete - only the meetings that you attend. How else are they supposed to check it?

    Crashing ?

Couldn't the steward or whoever just write the classes entered into the logbook ? Seems simple enough really.

I don't really mind, but it's not really indicative of experience to say three meetings minimum, if you have entered two classes at each meeting.

Even so someone like say Mikey is never gonna be safe no matter how many meeting he has done and you are safe even if you had done no meetings. And its not like they have time to do it on a case by case basis. or do you think they should do it like they do in the UK? make you wear a high vis and sit a test?

I'm just suggesting that the present criteria is not representative - you have to have entered at three meetings before competing at Wangas, but there is no dispensation for those that have entered in two classes at each meeting, THUS gaining sufficient experience earlier than those that enter only one class per meeting.

So when there is a 22 lapper at manfeild that should count as two races rather than one?

Now you're just being pedantic...but no it wouldn't because that is what constitiuted that particular race meeting.

Enter two classes = equivalent to 2 meetings.

But every meeting is different, race tracks are different lengths, races are different number of laps. Who is to say that entering 2 classes at 1 meeting gives you any more experience than 1 class at another? You might get more racing laps in your single class meeting. What do you want - a fixed number of racing kilometers completed?? What happens if I do a single 6 hour meeting? Odds are I'd have done more racing in that time than your 3 meetings with 2 classes.

It's got to be something that's simple and easy to administer and easy to check up on. The current system does that.

It was just an observation, but yes I thought a set number of races would have sufficed. Still simple.

fair point. that's how it works in the UK. You need to complete 15 races as a novice. However the opportunity for cross entry is much less, although clubs often run a 'novice' all-in race to help you get through the period quicker.

It took me a whole season to get rid of my bib, that was with entering all rounds in KDMC series in scotland and travelling down to england to do a few events as well.
