Well the weekend here in Wellington has been a complete wind and washout. So stuck my nose in a book and looked over some useful reiminders about road safety.

I rode to my comp this morning cuz my gear was already there and my mate had my car... then rd home the long way afterwards, got in just before it started to rain.
What did I practice??... Looking where I want to go not where im going... if that makes sense (had I learnt that sooner, im certain my first bin would not have happened!)... instructor dude yesterday (took my best friend to get her handling cert-she passed) and he was showing her stuff n so I opened my ears too n then he gave some tips n so practiced thatbest thing I couldve heard/learnt I reckon, much better riding by taking that one lil thing n putting it into practice, easier to lean bike in the corners n feels heaps better at speed.

gonna do a course to reduce restricted time by 6 months n learn more
cant wait!
It was also quite windy up here.
We went through the Waipoua Forest (24kms of twisties) and got to the southern end of the Hokianga, as per photos.
Practiced:
Fighting the wind on exposed ridgelines.
Passing German tourists on hire BMWs in the forest.
Directing same German tourists that the next gasser was about 70kms ahead. They had passed one about 10kms back.
A philosophical debate about the ridiculousness and inappropriate double yellow lines on our fair highways. Ixion, where are you??
Tha Jandal: Adding another dimension to "rubber side down"
Jandal [jan-duhl] noun: a mythical entity presiding over bikers
Jandal [jan-duhl] verb: "to jandal" is to involuntarily separate from one's boik.
Jandalled [jan-duhlled] past tense - usage: "bro, I've just gone and jandalled it"
Had friends over for breakfast, and then rested my hip in the bath with a book.
Watched Top Gear. The Caravan Trip (capitalised for a reason) was some of the funniest TV ever, especially towing home the charred remains.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?
Not much riding today, went over to North Shore to buy oil for the bikes service change - did that and then did a quick pootle to Pukekohe to make sure everything was tickety-boo. Went to Borders and purchased the excellent "How to Maintain your Motorcycle Yourself" book (50% discount voucher meant $71 = $35.50)
On Friday I did some figure 8 practice at Maraetai in the parking lot there. Once I did those, I practiced doing in-outs on the parking lot lines until I finished every one of them! Then did some emergency braking at varying speeds (scary at higher speeds!)
"I like to ride anyplace, anywhere, any time, any way!"![]()

Whatcha buy Drum? Pickies?

I looked out the window, frowned, and read some more 'a twist of the wrist'
The bike got moved about 3m accross the garage![]()
Few more backroads,
enjoyed the new damper.
Practiced restrant.
Having had my bike in the shop for a week, I had to go for a ride despite the wind. Did the Wellington coast anticlockwise (down through Brooklyn and round from Owhiro Bay to Oriental Bay) with a couple of minor deviations.
The wind either wasn't as bad as I was expecting, or I'm getting better at dealing with it. The problem was following cars - there were several times I felt that I needed to apply power and accelerate for better stability, but there was a car right there, so I couldn't. Should have been hanging back further I suppose.
Richard
i went to my bed and practiced be lazy and sleeping in all weekend
atleast the weather was kinda dodgy, that made me feel better
1990 Suzuki Bandit GSF 250 for sale 39k kms $3,500
Headed off down Highway 50 but turned back as it was so windy. Cruised around to the local school and practised tight turns and backing intto parking places
Diarrhoea is hereditary - it runs in your jeans
If my nose was running money, I'd blow it all on you...
