    Arrow Rear brake disc

    Hey team !! ... My old girl has failed her WoF and I need a new/used rear disc. The one that's on at the moment is .5mm past the tolerance and I'm having trouble sourcing another one (can't get them new now apparently !!). So if anyone has or knows someone with a rear disc for a 1987 GSX1100-EF please PM me with the details ...

    That guy in Waihi can supply pretty near any disk. He's on Trademe, just search motorcycle parts for brake disk. Or here, I think his number's been posted.

    Haven't heard anything good about his discs yet. If it's cheap enough, it might be worth a crack for a non floating rear disc.

    The rear disc on my EFG (same colour as yours) is marginal too, so I have an interest in any replies.
    Have you tried the dealer? I ask because they are listed in the USA as still being available. Failing that, I will find out what others will fit. You may have to put up with a slotted disc instead of the original grooved one but it will keep you on the road.
    The best way to forget all your troubles is to wear tight underpants.

    Cheers for all that you guys !! I am waiting on a reply from Vic Wreckers in aussie and have been working my way through some manuals to find something similar ...

    I'm not clear about what model it is. Is it part no 69211-48B10 which is in theory for an 87-88 GSX1100 Katana? They are still listed, $213.27 US

    Try www.suziparts.com.au, they specialise in pre 87 Suzukis (so you are just on the edge but they specifically mention GSX1100). If they don't have something for an old zuki it prolly doesn't exist. Very very very helpful, and very quick.

    Or, Robinsons Foundry in UK, they ahve a lot of old stock

    ebc will do a prolite replacement for the old girl ebc part no. md3039, best price i've found so far $ 154 u.s.

    I have tried the Waihi discs ..well 2 sets actually. And the 2nd set sits in a box in my garage.
    The BEST buy I made was on Ebay from the States. Bought a set for less than the cost of 1 after-market.

    Sadly that's what I hear Care to share what it was you didn't like. So far I've heard 'warped easily', and 'didn't fit correctly'.

    Was the warp factor. Started off that way and didnt improve. Pulsating brakes on tight twisty stuff isnt amazingly comforting. Tho in some situations where ABS works it would be fine !!

    Cheers all ... looks like it's the UK connection that is gonna do it ... Nothing in Aussie so far ... but I'll give them another week .... Still don't quite get how this has happened ... the bike has had 2 WoF's since I got the pads done ... I don't use the rears often ... if at all !! .. there is minimal wear on the new pads but the disc has got too thin !! ... What the !!!

    Ghey, that's two for 'warped easily' then. Considering the tolerances that discs are made to, and the finicky nature of the materials that are suitable, it doesn't actually surprise me at all.
