Hopefully some one can give you some good spots. Definitely watch out on the long downhill straights. Realistically, it's labour weekend, the Street Races are on in Greymouth, so they will likely be out in force. It's probably waaaaaay safer just to cruise and take in the scenery

Normally at the top of cragiburn cutting/ lake grassmere straight and around the straights at castle hill. sometimes they get a couple of HP cars staying at the Bealey pub, If they are there you had better keep ya eyes open coz they just roam around anywhere. I also hear that one of the local cops hide in the scrub with the laser just inland of kumara but i have yet to see him and i travel that road quite often.

When are you coming through? If I'm not at work I might be able to go for a spin and meet you on the way over.

On all the long open straight sections, not the twisty sections, there are all the police. Most are in unmarked cars. Watch out of L300 vans parked on the road side and in townships.

Sometimes cops do park up behind the bushes/trees They're a bit harder to spot.

It's a white L300 over here and he quite often sits at arthers pass township or at the Kumara racetrack.

Cant get better advice than that.
Success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it.

I saw a white one recently in Reefton main drag when heading north out of the township - Murphy's Law, only spotted it once it was visible in my mirrors.

There's a dark green one often parked near the Deer huts on Chch side of Lewis pass.
