Bloody good point, and not a bad start.

Pay it forward is the way to go. I've seen a few examples of it over the last few days and it's fucken awesome.

yep....a woman on trademe lost her sons toy dog....as a group, we were able to locate and return said dog, and i found an identical one on amazon. i also found a replacment for her daughters very worn teddy bear....the mum wanted to pay me...i just wrote on the bag "pay it forwards".
ive been doing small things for a little while now....making copies of an impossible to find cassette tape and sending them to friends around the world, finding a doll for another friend for xmas...

awesome concept, and there needs to be more of it, i think.

    LOL counting chickens?

I honestly hope (and to some extent know) what happened here is typical of what's going on. There are favours going on left and right. People seem to be getting it together (around me anyway).

I've had a couple of guys from KB do me hugely significant favours in the last little while. I hope they know who they are, but to them it's just "what you do"

    They're right.

Yeah, don't do stuff expecting any comeback... you'll lose karma that way, and lots of the time, things come back in a different way that we expect and might miss it. Just be happy that we did something really nice for someone and leave it at that. If things come back around, then great! But it's no good looking for it.

Excellent - Lets say thursday is last day for top ups? I'll bung some extra $$ in either tomorrow or thursday depending upon the amount of foraging for food I have to do tomorrow. (university holidays and the locusts have taken roost at chez PINZ)

    Cheers

Allright, so after we paid for the plastics ..

that leaves us with a total of $132.76.. i'd say thats a good start on a good pair of boots

I agree with Paul, Thursday will be the last day for donations.

his dad reckons about $250 for a decent pair .. not sure what size tho.

Hes just amazed that we have done as much as we have.

I'll be sending the rest of the cash to him on Monday morning.

All good... no need to ease up on the good work now though (I'm happy to help out where needed). Give the poor little bugger something to really celebrate. Shit I'll even pay for his first tank of fuel

edit - I see Quasi has boots on there for $200, although I'm not sure how they compare with what his dad was looking at.

Boots for a growing boy with growing feet? Can we find more lasting a memory for him?
