    GSF250 Bandit "0-100 etc"

Just been looking at the Suzuki GSF250 Bandit and quite like the little beast.

Just want to know about it's power. I have read that it has 45hp but just interested in how many seconds to reach 100kph. Nothing seems to be on the net.

I know that 250's are slow in comparison to bigger bikes... ... ... Just want any info from anyone who has been on a bandit and done some tests.

any other info would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

They redline at 17000rpm and seem to get their "second wind" at about 10,000 to 11,000 rpm and are quite happy winding out. They are fast enough and a great bike to learn or have fun on... you won't be disappointed.

my 1990 GJ74A 45HP model did the flying quater at the warirapa sprints in 8.19 seconds - thats a top speed of 176 km/h!

My bike has larger jets and an exhaust.

not sure how many seconds to reach 100 but its not long, my best standing 1/4 time was 15 seconds but i only did 2 runs (got up to about 140ishkm/h).

    hope that helps

that's abit faster than my old 1.8l, fwd lancer, 16+secs.

and about the same as my ex-evo2 powered Mitsi RVR shopping trolley!

I now have a 1.6l auto corolla for a cage which would be lucky to finish the quarter mile!

That's cos it's a stupid question. My old 125 would do 100kph in less than 5s if you clutched it enough.

It's all relative. In the world of bikes - not too quick. In the world of road vehicles overall - pretty damn quick!

The GSF250 comes in two versions:

    Pre-1992 45 HP
Post-1992 40 HP (Japanese restriction regulations for 250's being enforced)

According to this formula (weight/HP*0.9) which is pretty dodgy and inaccurate, the theoretical max acceleration is ~ 4.7 sec. I'd recon it's more like 5.0 - 5.5 sec which means it still shits all over most things on the road other than exotics like Porche, Ferrari and tuned-turboed Jappa cars.

Of course when it comes to bikes your typical 600/1000 sprots is running 0-100 in ~ 3.5 secs. The Bugatti Veyron does it in 1.6 secs FFS!!!

Personally not that into Drag racing but it's quite fun burning off traffic at the lights. Fast 0-100 time still doesn't stop them cages from pulling out in front of you though

Oh and there's also a GSF400 - essentially the same bike frame with bigger bollocks if you want to go quicker.
