Someone knocked my bike over. Throttle now sticks

Hey guys

It was a sad day for my MB100 today someone drove into my mb100 today or at least I think someone did. Either that or they dropped it and put it back up again.

Upon finishing work I hopped on my bike, I started her up like normal but noticed something odd, The end of my throttle looked abit mangled, I thought the sun might have melted it and thought nothing of it. I began to pull away and CRASH my mirror falls out of its holder and smashes on the ground. I decided it was best to take the quickest route home and check it out there, during the ride home I notice WTF?? my throttle is sticking. When i got home I take a closer look at my throttle and pull a bit of gravel out of the rubber! now I inspect the whole right side of the bike. now I can see scratch marks on my exhaust and break leaver

I can't believe I didnt see it happen, I work in a service station and the bike is in my view all day, I parked it out the traffics way, Actually inside a small cement barrier so nobody can wheel it away. I'm thinking theres no impact mark so mayby someone tried to wheel it away and dropped it. theres a knack of getting it out of where I park it :P


Really pissed off that this has happend, If somebody did crash into it they were probably a customer and could of at least owned up how could someone do this to my baby! and if someone did try to steal her I hope they loose their manhood in a horrible accident.

Anyone know if a sticking throttle will affect my next WOF? I have a spare mirror so its not a total loss.

If you loosen the two Phillips head screws holding the throttle assemble on, then move the entire assembly out a couple off mm, then retighten the screws you'll probably find it's not sticking anymore.

i work in a servo as well...had to chase some high school kids away from the v-go the other day. im terrified of her getting nicked or otherwise interferred with. im gonna invest in a lock and chain so i can at least tie her to the building. in order to do that though, it means shes parked out my view [unless i go all the way out to the road] id love to bring her inside, but not enough room.

Crikey - is nothing sancrosanct these days!? I'm glad at least nothing more serious was inflicted on your poor ride - makes me thinking about how vulnerable our rides are when we're pre-occupied! Been having some hijinks at our school lately, so I've been leaving my ride home - take the cage in and swap at end of day!

so your handle bar's don't have bar weights at the end of your bars, ? was just checking on whether it did or not, as you can buy light bar weight caps and these slip into the bar tube, and generally these do save your throttle tubing from been damaged when knocked over

Same thing just happened to my SR250. It was dropped it on its right side from a standstill. (not by me!) The front indicator cover and brake lever broke, and the throttle would not return at all from the spring, only with me forcing it. It was actually kind of nice having cruise control, but I took apart the housing and glared at it, so it knew to stop mucking me around and worked perfectly when I put everything back together.
