Also he was riding a TL1000S!......

BTW he did not have a busted knee either pal!.......no injuries to legs at all....
Full of shit???? I was there...

Ambos moved his leg and the moment they did, he semi came to and stopped snoring...

It was an Ambo call about the broken leg, not mine, but couldn't help but notice the knee pad that had been completely ripped out of his leathers. I lifted the stretcher at the feet end and got blood on my boots and pants so I am surprised he had no leg injuries...

HIs injuries are not surprising... he hit the raised drain culvert at the scene and his safety equipment (helmet, leathers etc) did better than average in saving him...

See my post #28.... I couldn't tell if it was an SV or a TL due to the damage, but is it important?

The important point here was he was going to be dead if he stayed out there overnight. He wasn't going to be seen by people driving past. Michelle spotted damage to the fence railing only and went back for a look because she had a feeling something wasn't right. If she didn't, it went dark 10 minutes later and he had already been there for some time unseen. The bike engine was barely warm to the touch. From the injuries you have pointed out, he is lucky to have been found when he was. I wish him, and his family, well in his recovery.

The alcohol smell was very strong, even with my cold I had at the time. Everyone commented about it, Ambo, Police, nurse etc... and yes, the blood results will show...

Fair comment about hanging him out to dry before the full story is known, for that I apologise unreservedly and am happy to be proved wrong (I often am, my wife proves this regularly enough...).

Michelle saved your brothers life...she spotted something no one else had and went back for a look. I was happy just to help out, no matter what. For all the shit we cops get on here, it was an "attempt" for some positive press instead for a change...

As for the abuse... whatever.... I'll see him sometime personally to wish him well and offer my apologies if I have pissed him off over anything...

well maybe once the matter has been to court and the the result of the '1' bottle of beer is known, then we can comment more.

Just a quick note guys - this thread was moved back into the "public arena" because we saw the value of the discussion... No problems with people giving their opinions... but keep it clean and abuse free please.

But isn't the F*cked up thing in this country? Anything that happens goes to court and even if you're blameless and found innocent YOU STILL HAVE TO PAY THE LEGAL COSTS?!?!?

So the Police can happily stuff up every judgement call they make knowing it won't affect them but that innocent people may be pushed to the brink of losing their houses over legal costs they should never have had to pay in the first place?

Tell me it ain't so please - tell me there is always a full reimbursement to the accused of all losses of earnings and legal expenses if they are found to be innocent of the charges.

I am hoping this is false and just another piece of Anti NZ Propoganda designed to make me return to the UK.

Just curious has anyone else received abusive PM's from Festus?
I wish the guy a speedy recovery and peace to his family.

Any one that has got abused on here either on the board or through a PM dam well deserves it as far as I can see

All the critics of this rider need to take a look in there own closet first!

And for any so called Biker to get on here and abuse another for some thing they (May) have done is -uckin pathetic, call your selves brothers, when all you really are a bunch of wanabe red necks who know how to fix the world at the push of a button

The next time any of you brake the law, remember what you have said here about a man who was/is very badly hurt, and then remember the hurt you have forced onto his family because of your big insensitive mouths

Well put Shaun... I reckon the lynch Mob of KB should always remember there are people and families attached to the situation they are attacking.

After reading this whole thread, i can see how this would upset the people who know the rider in question. But for Festus why not correct the facts, instead of abusing the people who are going on the facts they have been told or know.

I mean if he wasnt your brother or no one on here knew him and the report was that he smelled of alcohol what would you think. Most people would probably think what an idiot. So correct people first before abusing them, they were just going on what they knew.

For the taking a helmet off at a crash i thought it was leave the helmet on but undo the strap so to relieve any pressure by the strap but not have the head out of the helmet incase of any injuries that could be aggrovated.

Well to have such staunch mates he must be a good guy - good onya for sticking by him. However, reading those posts when you are personally involved tends to tip you view a bit the harsher way. Reading them objectively sees a bit of a more normal reaction.

As for dissing another 'brother' biker etc. KB is still about the biggest 'community' I've ever seen as most bikers would not cross to road to piss on another biker if he was on fire. People don't even wave anymore. KB might change that. But I can tell you that if you ride a different kind of bike to the average joe you are invisible to them. Biking community? Nah - not yet.

Due to limited access to a computer, Festus only read the first page of the thread and responded to what he initially read. I moved this thread out of the public forum and consulted with him as to what he wanted done. He hasn't been able to read the rest of the comments because the thread has only gone public again today, as per his wishes. How do you think you'd react if there was a thread about one of your loved ones who'd crashed?

The most important thing is airway and breathing - if that's not adequate then the helmet must come off. If they're not breathing then they will die.

People post 'crash' stuff all the time - why not just delete the damn thread - it serves no point or purpose.

Every person who ever did anything daft or news worthy has relatives and family that are blameless. KB comment didn't cause the accident which is the root of the trouble. If you don't like it - don't read it is the advice I've been given time after time...

    I'd disagree with you there.

    1) It's brought up the issue of a biker down. A common enough posting (unfortunately)
    2) It's also brought out a range of responses from a range of people, which in the possible fullness of time might see the light of day.

I'll personally vouch for Mack's initial reaction. It appears to have been off target but I can understand the reasons for writing what he did.

For the record, he's the guy that went fucken MILES out of his way a few weeks back to make sure I didn't do anything involving booze and driving. Miles out of his way, and spent most of a wet Sunday helping me clean up the mess my sorry arse got into by mistake. A top man I'd trust when the chips are down.

That being said, festus has jumped to the defence of his brother based on what's been written about his brother. And rightly so. If my brother or sister, or a friend, were banged up in an accident I'd be screaming at anyone that put forward firm views on the subject... but happend to be incorrect for whatever reason.

Sorry MDU but I tend to agree with Paul - these rider down, or RIP threads cause more damage than good, there have been times when we have all been RIP'sing and the poor bugger is not even dead... we have a thread about "discussing accidents" and I feel that until KB can take a more mature approach towards discussing these types of things maybe they should not be discussed.
