The rider in question is a good mate of mine for nearly 2 decades, and while what you are all saying about the drink is 100 percent true Im pretty shattered by the entire incident. As I said he is a good mate, a good guy, a father, and has a lovely Mrs.

His family are going through hell at the moment, They have tappped his skull to relieve the pressure, The extent of his brain injuries wont be known untill futher down the track.

If he gets back to full health then Im gonna slap him silly, But untill then he has my prayers, His kids need their dad back in good shape.

And I would like to thank all those involved in coming to his aid.
Green bling sent to you!! Thanks for letting us know about your mate. Prayers and thoughts to all as he recovers. Give him a slap too from KB!! Sorry!!

Thanks for the PM U4ea but although I stand by the title, I will amend it slightly to appease ya.

No one is more pleased than me to hear that he is on the slow mend. Great to hear that he is a good dad, friend, brother etc, but he nearly left them all for the sake of too many beers.

I tell ya, 21 years experience says he was toast if he stayed out there for the night and he is just so damn lucky Michelle decided to go back for a look and found him. Headbanger confirms this, going by what they have had to do to him to keep him going so far!!!

It didn't really matter wether he was a top bloke or a shithead... we would have done the same and got stuck in to do what we could, but it is nice to know he is of the decent sorts.

I wish him a rapid recovery, so his family and mates can give him the bollocking he also deserves eventually.

It looks like Michelles antics of that day made the front page of the newspaper....Nice!!!

So it's ok to slag someone off as long as we don't know them, but if we do then ohh, poor guy etc etc... What hypocrites!

Either it's always ok 'coz of some idiotic thing they did, or it's never ok 'coz we never know the full story.

Would make for boring conversasion if no one gets slagged off tho wouldn't it? How about we just slag people off who did something dumb but are not in danger for their lives? And coppers and auntie helen of course...

I am VERY sorry for his family, it is not something anyone should have to go through.

    However the ad's say:
"If you drink and drive then you are a bloody idiot!"
    "Drink, Drive, Die"

This is quite an easy concept to get your head round. As a father, partner and a mate he should have thought about the consequences. Remember also this time the damage was limited to himself things could have been very different, there were at least two others on the road that night (Patrick and Michelle).

The title of this thread is good, if it serves to deter another rider from picking up his keys after his glass then at least something good has come out of your mates lapse of reason.

Hope the dude makes a full recovery and when he does I hope it's the booze he quits not the riding (as some others have suggested).

Good on the folks that found him - shame you guys weren't on duty coz you could have then said "It was money from speeding fines that paid for the help we gave to save his life!"

I hope this has a happy ending - kind regards to the family.

The guy was my brother, he had 1 bottle of beer after a hard day on the job, police have taken blood and I'm sure the results will speak for thamselves.

For the fuckin records he sustained a brain injury, severity unknown, broken jaw upper and lower with 4 lost rear teeth, broken main shoulder (skapular?), punchured lung, broken ribs and your assorted grazes etc etc.......

Don't hang a man till the facts are clear ya fuckin homos!.......

Hey man, im sorry. I had actually suggested that it may have not been the alcohol right from the start so before you start hurling abuse maybe, just maybe you should read the thread properly! I actually got quite a few red reps when I suggested that maybe the alcohol smell may have been diabetes. But I am sorry for your brother, I hope he makes a good recovery.

Appreciate your post, Festus and point taken. It must be very tough on your family right now, especially as some here have noted your brother was a good bloke and a good rider.

Sometimes 1 beer "after a hard day" can be all it takes to lose that edge of concentration, especially on a bike. We'd appreciate knowing more about the circumstances, though of course it may be only when he can speak that the full facts may become known. The Police can make and educated guess from the site but only your brother will know exactly, (hopefully).

I'm sure I speak for most KB'rs when I say we all wish him well and offer our sympthies to his wife and kids and to you all.
