    Group up at pub

Hi all. Just heard from Dangerous and agree with his suggestion that we all group up at the Otematata pub and then ride down to the quarters.
He reckons their lot will be there about 2, I think we'll be closer to 3.
    cheers.

Sounds OK, if we gas-up at Alex while having lunch will you get the rest of the way on a tank-full?

And the rider of the *red sprotsbike that was intent in carving a fine line through the 40km bend - until he saw a large white Tequila Sunrise scraping its way around the bend from the opposite direction - sudden change of plan mid-bend for Mr Sprotsbike rider.

    * Looked like an old Ducati of the 80's or something like that, idb??
I go around 40km/h bends at 40km/h SD.

Hmmm, yes, well, ummm, I guess the fact I was doing about 80km/h accounts for the fact my peg was scraping then?

And even at 40km/h the sprots-bike rider might have decided to clip the apex a tad fine eh?

Unless pushing things a bit I get over 300km from a tank so not a problem for me. If we fill at Omarama it gives us all the options the next day as to where to go depending on weather, hangover, departure time, other committments.........
O'R'r has a cunning plan if the weather turns to crap (and no, not on gravel roads so your chrome is safe OK!!).

My take on the weather forecast for later in the week is that Friday is going to be very wet and horrible and Sat will be much better with Sth WEsters and occasional showers which probably means the SH8 route will be the best, the coastal route the worst and the middlemarch one somewhere in between depending on how low the cloud is. So it looks like Lawrence then.

Currently sitting in the lounge at the new campground in Queenstrown!! Had a ferkin AWESOME ride from Otematata today, via Wanaka & over the Crown Range. Enjoyed the ride over the hill at the Q/Town end SOOOOO much, I had to turn round & go back up it again.. just so I could scrape my boots!! several times!!! then came back down again! lovely weather! sat on the waterfront watching the sun set behind the hills & eating my tea. Without checking my little black book, I believe I have clocked up around 1000ks already!! YEEEFERKINHAAAAA!!!! off to Lawrence tomorrow.

Sounds a like a good idea Dangerouse. Are we going to have lunch out on the road somewhere? I like to ride on 'empty' first thing in the morning.

Sorry to hear you can't make it mate - without searching back through all the posts, were you the guy who was going to do the whole loop on the Sat?
I'll skip the coffee thanks, if I'm not home by then I'll be needing to be getting there.
Hope we can meet up another time and maybe start the occasional get together ride for KB's around the Dunedin and Sth Otago area.
