Thank you Jimbo for that, I hope you are working through your grief at the moment ... and thank you again for trying to work out what happened and sharing it so we can add it to our store of knowledge. I will be riding down tonight to attend the service.

Jimbo- Thanks. This whole tragic weekend just seems to get worse. Now I read that you have had to suffer, for a second time, being present when a riding buddy has died. Thinking of you Jim.

Thinking of you too Jim. Not a nice experience at all. Our best man died instantly after sliding into an oncoming car on the Coro Loop - his name was also Bruce.

Thanks J600 - explains the 'how'. The 'why' is more difficult. Sorry that you (or anyone) had to see what happened.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Thanks for all you kind words. I can't imagine what Debbie and Bruce's family must be going through. Tazman, Darkman, Fatjim were also present and although they didn't witness the accident, they did see the aftermath. There was another KBer there who helped out (sorry mate don't know you're name). It was comforting to have such good people around.

Our thoughts have been with Bruce's family and friends, and the guys he was riding with ever since we heard the news.
Much love and strength to you all

Thanks mate, a brave post and as the others have said, our sympathies and thoughts are with you and the others affected. Obviously many lives have been touched by this man and the posts reflect the esteem in which he was held.

My reason for asking was because we seem to need to know it was a freak or unexpected accident, something beyond normal control. KNowing this confirms that someone so respected was ridng sensibly and confirms our belief in him. Hope you guys can see what I mean, sometimes I'm not so good at expressing myself! For someone so capable to have this happen makes us realise how vulnerable we are.

Like a lot of accidents, a whole lot of seemingly minor things combining to make a terrible whole.
Thanks for explaining what happened - it won't undo whats done, but makes it a bit easier to understand.

What a shit of a thing to have to witness!

Our thoughts are with you and the others, as well Jim.

And all those who were with Darryl and Bruce.

We should all spare a thought for the poor cage-driver who was automatically involved (not wanting to take anything away from this tribute BTW). I wouldn't want to be in he/she's position.

Last weekend I had thoughts over giving up motorcycling.
Then I thought it's the wrong approach, fallen riders would not want that.

So I made the decision (with Jim2's help) , when I get my licence back fully and properly I'm going to be a mentor with some of the other Senior KB'ers here.
Give something back where I can.

I feel that this is the best tribute we can give to these fallen riders - and I likewise will take on a mentoring role. My first step towards this is to learn.

It's amasing - I never new UncleB. Probably crossed paths with him once or twice online but nothihg really of note - until now.

The sheer volume of the emotion coming from people that I do know is phenominal. I honestly feel I've missed the chance to meet a bloody good friend.

Bruce - sorry it didn't happen mate - not in this life anyway. God's speed old son
