I have never found a gas station that has only pre-pay - In fact I don't even think I have ever seen a prepay only pump.......maybe its a south auckland thing

Pretty colours Move to Christchurch, less cops, better roads, less traffic, and less (any(?) apart from Bogan Mobil late at weekends?) prepay petrol pumps.

Move to Chch? Why go backwards? I left Chch in 97 and my lungs have just finally cleared all the pollution out. Besides, I hate snow, sleet, frozen roads, boring straights, nor-westers and cambridge terrace poseurs.

Has Chch changed? Is there some valid reason to go backwards now?

Just a quick request from someone who used to be sole-charge and handled a lot of cash at night... please remove your helmet unless it's half-face or a flip up. It's fucking nerve-racking when someone walks in with a helmet on, it's just not worth the stress it gives the $9-an-hour wage-slaves behind the counter.

hear hear! (oh shit! did I just agree with you?)

anyway, THAT kind of security IS valid. We are a tad naieve in NZ but getting less so by the year. In most other countries you don't get in any building with a skid lid on and in trigger happy places like Manila, you're taking your life in your hands.

OK, now lets get back to hating each other OK?!

When I came across a prepay pump, I thought it was pretty good since I was paying by eftpos. The eftpos machine told me how much cash I had in my account before filling it. I've never overfilled and not been able to pay but I can't help but be paranoid.

However, I quickly turn bitter. Fucking hate them now. Just another way for the oil companies to make sure they squeeze every cent out of us (like having leaky pumps so you have to scrounge through your pockets for an extra 20 cents when you only planned to pay with a 10 dollar note)

You've never lived in Chch have you... Auckland... pollution?

I recall a number of times in Chch... asthmatics were warned to stay indoor - smog problems from the fires.

Last time I heard that in Auckland was ... hmmmm ... nope - can't find it
