    Speeding Fines

There are some threads on Speeding/demerit point on KB. I founf a short article about what the speeding fines and demerit points are in NSW. Here they are:

Offence - Exceed Speed Limit by:

    More than 15 km/hr:- 3 demerit points $75 fine

    More than 15 km/hr but less than 30 km/hr:- 3 demerit points $225 fine

    More than 30 km/hr but less than 45 km/hr:- 4 demerit points $575 fine

    More than 45 km/hr:- 6 demerit points $1550 fine.

NOTE: The above penalties apply if you're issued with a penalty notice for speeding. If the police catch you speeding more than 45 km/hr over the limit, they can immediately suspend your licence for 6 months. A total of more than 12 demerit points in 3 years also means a loss of licence.

maybe it's because i live in rural NSW, but there aren't many bike accidents. However, P-Plate cagers get killed by the dozen! They're really dangerous. That's who the cops keep an eye out for, at least on the F3 -Sydney to Newcastle freeway. The truckies area worry too, as they're supposed to be limitded to 110 maximum speed, but when I drive to work I constantly get passed by these 18 wheelers doing at least 140!!!

Bikers used to enjoy the "old road" - the Pacific Highway. That was until three idiots decided to use it as their "personal racetrack". They were clocked a speeds in excess of 250 km/hr, and never got caught. However, the ruined everything for everyone that has anything resembling a sports bike.
