    Oh. That sort of d20.

    The penny just dropped.

I had this character, Dwarf Warrior I think, back in Form 2, his career mainly progressed during lunchbreaks in a corner of the school library. He ended up with a Vorpal Blade. Awesome stuff. Love those 20s.

Oh my god. I can (vaguely) sysadmin AND I know what a d20 is. Not that I've ever used one.

It's all been to no avail - I'm still a nerd.

Might have been able to do that if you hadn't been so cute with your location. I needed someone in Welly and found them. Too late now dude.

Mwhahaha. I tried that. I even went to the other side of the world. You can never escape the clutches of coding.

    wish I was coding :|

was hired as a sys admin, but in reality I am a glorified receptionist ... meaning I thought I would be devloping the business technically, but I'm actually in a support role that I don't enjoy much.

Had I known this would be a support role, I might not have taken the position.

    oh well ...

So just hammer the tech employment agencies and the big corporates (try the test engineering team at RAKON) with your CV. You'll have the job you want within a few months, unless you're a complete twat who doesn't know his arse from his elbow.

Are you a complete twat who doesn't know his arse from his elbow?

(glorified receptionist)that cracks me up, how the hell do you not know what your getting yourself into? do you not ask questions at the interview?

i had some **** from Ireland try that shit on me after he'd been in the job 2 months, after i paid for relocation, an apartment and helped with his Visa...... more like he was home sick, job was too hard and he didn't have the balls to front up.

btw, i'm still on the dole

long story .. but it goes something like this:

al the support team went nuts, either got hospitalised, or walked out in a tantrum, leaving me as the only person who knows his arse from his elbow

Fish: yeah I've started talks .. just trying to avoid going to dorkland at this stage ..
