    Discovery Channel 'Biker Build-Off' Shows

I thought I'd start a thread for this show. Although it's mentioned in other threads sometimes, hopefully this will catch the attention of guys who aren't aware new episodes are screening from this Saturday (06 Jan 07).

It looks like we are missing Series 4 (Damn It!) and going straight in to Series 5 which aired in the US at the end of 2006.

We have seen Series 1-3 here a few times which had some great builds.

Here is the episode guide for Series 5 but it looks like we aren't getting them in correct order:

    Billy Lane vs. Russell Mitchell

    Trevelen vs. Scott Long

    Mike Metzger vs. Larry Linkogle

    Kevin Alsop vs. Ivy Trosclair

    Roland Sands vs. Jesse Rooke

    El Pitts vs. Harold Ponterelli

    Marcus Walz vs. Mike Prugh

    Detroit Bros vs. Jason Kangas

    Gypsy Charro vs. Kim Suter

    Paul Yaffe vs. Dave Perewitz

    Craig Whitford vs. Mike Long

    Brian Klock vs. Jason Hart

    Matt Hotch vs. Roger Goldammer

Looking forward to this a LOT. New episodes being filmed presently too - very cool.

Oooo looking forward to it. There are some awesome builders in that list. And not all of them just grab shit from the shelf to bolt on...
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them

Do we get a Billy Lane special episode where he drinks, drives and kills other motorcyclists while overtaking on double yellow lines? I hate any cocksucker who drinks and drives, especially one who denies it and is likely to get off because he's rich and it's Amerika.

I did not even know there were more than one season.
Where did you get the episode info from?

    Thanks.

    Bert,

From the Discovery Channel US website:

    http://dsc.discovery.com/fansites/bi...pisode_02.html

You can see the first 3 series' were really small. 11 episodes over 3 years including the World Biker Build-Off.

Hopefully we'll get Series 4 at some point, there's some good builders in there too.

Marcus Walz is the builder I'm waiting to see - that guy is amazing.

I think what Billy Lane did is disgusting as well, I still like the bikes coming out of his shop though. I'll watch his episodes, I just won't support him with my $$ from now on (shirts, parts etc).

I watched the one with Shinya Kimura and I really loved his work. He used an old HD engine and overhauled it on the show. Not Plug and play parts like some of the other guys.

He also incorporated a lot on early race bike techniques in his build and was really informative!!!

Sadly he did not win because the public liked a more cosmetic bike and not a practical one.

Whenever we had the goggle box on in the US, it was almost invariably tuned to Discovery, much to the vifferbabe's disgust. It was on some repeating loop thing, where you saw all the latest Murkn Chopper episodes, then they repeated them again. I was amused to see FatBlob Junior finish a Hoggley UNgodly with pipes with baffles in them, and say summat like, "This is prolly the first bike we've done with pipes with baffles, and I must say, it sounds real nice, sort of racy!"

What I liked was they had Murkn Hotrod (another bunch of dumbarses) and some show (can't remember the name) where they took a classic car that was a bit clapped out and turned it into something REALLY nice.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Discovery channel is like that. They tend to repeat the same things over and over for a week.
