Have preferred WSB over MotoGP the last couple of years. There's real interest in both this year for me with the new 800cc MotoGP bikes (and a Rossi comeback?) and with WSB constantly improving. It'll be interesting to see how Max goes on a superbike too. Then there's the probable 1200cc twin limit and the new manufacturers in 2008. You probably see which way I'm leaning, but not enough to stop me heading across to the Aussie GP again this year.

Oh, what's with the probable 1200cc twin limit Les? Not heard anything on that.

Certain parties in World Superbikes (ie. Ducati) are petitioning the FIM and FGSport to allow 1200cc twins to run against the 1000cc fours due to these bikes being in production soon, ie. Ducati 1098/1188 and KTM 1150cc RC8, etc.

FGSport claims that no such rule changes have yet been "analysed, discussed or planned" but does state that "the Superbike category should be a mirror of real-world marketplace reality" and that "should the market of the future be characterised by changes, in particular where the capacity of what are effectively regular showroom models is concerned, FIM and FGSport believe that these changes should be mirrored in the Superbike World Championship technical regulations."

That's fair enough I reckon. Sounds like it's a foregone conclusion.

I reckon that a lot of it has to do with the fact that Ducati don't want to be losing too many championships. We can see how their racing successes have helped their sales.

Hey, thanks for that Les. If it was to happen any time soon Baylis would be able to enjoy a quiet cuppa during the race?

Yeah, ha ha! The guy is on fire. His final showing on MotoGP proved his class. Go Troy.

I think the word is that if the 1200 twins were to compete, the restrictions that are currently placed on the 1000cc fours would be relaxed as to not allow the bigger, torquier twins to get too far ahead. You could see that the 999 last year was faster on some circuits than the higher horsepower fours due to it's tractability, etc.

Troy B. for champ again I reckon but watch out for Toseland who oozes class IMHO. Toseland will make a real impression in MotoGP too when he finally gets there. Rumour has it he turned down a ride alongside Barros in the D'Antin Ducati team this season with hopes to getting a top Ducati ride in the next year or so.

I can't wait...I love this stuff! Both championships will be good this season.

At the risk of being flamed....

If I'm going to watch it on TV, World Rally Championship wins hands down! St Sebastien Loeb has my vote all the way!

If I win Lotto or fall in a barrel of money any form of riding as long as I'm going to be doing it. Anyone got a bucket racer for sale?
Its never too late to have a happy childhood!
