Ten days away from the bike.

Just back from a 10 day break up north.

The missus and I took the cage.

Had withdrawl symptoms for the forst few days but the break has done wonders for me.

Riding position has been giving me a little pain lately and this break has allowed it to go away.

Feel refreshed, relaxed and ready to once again brave the idiots in cages on the Auckland motorway.

While I was away a family member managed to reverse their cage into the side of the bike. Result-- a new gear lever needed. Could have been worse.

    Anyway.

    I'm back.

    10 days???

We've been in the UK since 15th Dec and all I want to do is get back on my bike! It might only be a ginny, but it's my 2 wheels of freedom and I am itching to get back out on it!!

Trouble is, having been force-fed by the parents for the last month (like I need it....), I don't think my bike pants will fit when I get back
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way

Glad to hear your ride didn't fare too badly ... but how the diddly-doo did you manage to leave it in a position where they could harm your precioussss?

Done thousands of miles on those motorways when I was in the UK. Dont want to see them again.

Used to travel up the M4 to London once a day from Cardiff, round trip 500km.

Loved the M50 and the M5 going north to Brum.

Got sent from Cardiff to Great Yarmouth in Norfolk on a return job. Nearly 800 miles in one very cold winter night. I remember stopping in a small town to put my gloved hands on the exhaust to try and get some feeling back in them.

10 days break from commuting to Newmarket every day, just enough to relax. Went for a ride this evening and found I was enjoying myself.

Girlfriend and I have decided to buy a few acres up north and move out of Auckland. Warm, friendly, empty and relaxed. Couple of years and we will be gone.

Left the keys in case it needed moving. Brother in law did that and forgot he parked it behind the car. Reversed out and caught the gear lever. SNAP.

Luckily he finally noticed and didnt put it over on its side.
